Im aware of robrea's lack of faith in Our Hughsey vidal. But im sure Will is winning him over.
I firmly believe Hughes will become one of the great England players.
If Bent does nowt other than lounge around the box and nonchalantly knock them in with his @r$e or his knee, I'll be happy.
Wassa...why would we play 4-4-2 last night? We have never started that under McClaren.
Is it plan C to have the Stoke style throw ins. I rather liked this approach, our throw ins have been poor for ages. Get the ball into the mix and anything can happen and did last night.
Hughes was brilliant and even Steve now agrees!
So Backo why did Steve McClaren experiment on Saturday?????????
Yeah he experimented on Saturday but not with a 4-4-2.You said a few weeks back we had no Plan B. Now we have. You gotta be happy now surely??
Don't worry Backo we've got this
We experimented on Saturday to explore whether different option are possible. The back 3 idea didn't seem to work, the diamond did, but Simpson made the point before kick-off last night that the 4-3-3 has served us well overall and that it would probably remain the standard formation because the players are used to it. Changing the way we play might make us worse rather than better, as it did first half on Saturday, so it makes sense to be reasonably cautious. What we do have though is the ability to change within games. I was surprised that we didn't actually go to the diamond last night when Bent came on - Martin remained at the top with Bent and Hendrick moved wide right - but it worked. It just means we have options. Nothing's perfect - if we play 4-4-2 we sacrifice a midfielder which means we could get over-run centrally. I think we could have got mugged playing that way last night and had we gone behind it would have been very difficult. Had we scored first with the 4-3-3, as when Ward had a good chance first half, we may well have picked them off and won comfortably. You can't always predict the way the game is going to go, but you can change depending on circumstances. I thought he might have changed it at half time but maybe he knows what he's doing better than me.

Cheers Wassa. Can you sort the resolution out for next week, it's crap.
OK on mine, Iwas, although a bit 'long distance'.
Better than the extended highlignts on the RamsPlayer app anyway

I know it's late and everything that can be said has been said about Tuesday's game, however, what is it with the opposition support always chanting the Bobby Zamora song? Is it supposed to upset us? Yes it hurt at the time but now I am so over it , actually so are everyone else by joining in it seems. What next, worst team in history chants?
