It means be the most influential figure in the middle of the pitch, like Pirlo and Vidal are for Juve, not Pogba.

Pogba has attributes to do so, though I still see him as being more of an attacking midfielder as I think his game is better suited - he drifts in and out of games and isn't going to run the midfield with his passing in a way Scholes did as he's not good enough with his use of the ball - and that's what I'm basing my judgement on, not what he may possibly do based on having attributes that tick a lot of boxes but more on how he uses these attributes, and I don't see him being the central midfielder we need given we have Rooney, Mata, RVP and potentially Falcao as well.

If we sold of Mata and brought in Pogba to play in a three man midfield with another cm that is proven in that position I'd be all for it.

However, as I've stated, not at that price. And yes I agree we've been ripped off for said players, doesn't mean I want us to continue pîssing away money on players.

That's just my opinion. I really doubt we'll sign him anyway so it's all a bit moot.

Darren - I think you need to name the mystical CM that you keep referring to.

Pogba at 22 is key to the juventus and France sides he plays in and has the attributes to be the box to box midfielder we need. Yes he plays offensively at juventus but it is a weaker league and juve have the luxury of Vidal and pirlo to fill the other roles.

I've already said I want us to sign Vidal.

I'm sorry but £70m for a 22 year old pogba is a better deal than £40m for a 27 year old Vidal who has suffered major knee problems.

I don't think it is, especially as Vidal looks to be getting over his knee injuries.

Plus it's not just the value for money of the respective players, Vidal fixes a more immediate need in midfield, in my opinion.

It also leaves us plenty of money left over to sort out other areas of the pitch. Despite having plenty of cash we don't have an unlimited budget.

What us that immmediete fix? Is he the creative, driving, goalscoring CM we need?

Yes I'd say so.

But more than that, he should help stop teams waltzing through the middle of our midfield and defence.

Our cm issues still remain, even if we've improved upon Cleverley, Anderson and Fletcher.

Two top cm's are needed ideally. Top cm's seem to be pretty scarce at the moment, however.

Blind is the sitter. We need an offensive minded CM. That is pogba

Blind is not a patch on Vidal. Vidal can play with Blind anyway and provide more in defence and attack than any cm we have and more than Pogba, he's the complete package.

Hopefully Herrera will be given the opportunity to give us some of what you are asking for from cm otherwise he'd be another near £30m player, along with Fellaini, sat on the bench.

We won't sign Pogba anyway so this is a pointless argument.

We might sign pogba and he offers more than Vidal plus is younger, less risk of a re occurring knee injury and has a re sale value.

You arguing is pointless
