You don't need a proper 10 if you play as we did on Saturday - as long as you free up Eriksen and Lamela to support Kane, as both like to get in the central area.

The way you do that is by having fullbacks who will get up the pitch quickly and provide your width. The three players in midfield will have to work hard, fill gaps and keep things ticking over, but the fullbacks are vital

If you don't have that - as in the semis with Davies - it will fall down
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I see what you're saying but having both fullbacks up the pitch can leave you open at the back.. horses for courses really. Dembele at his best makes it work - we've seen him do it against Chesea, who are more about trying to grind you down. Against teams like Liverpool who play with pace on the break i'd sooner keep it tight.

I do find it interesting you say that the fullbacks are vital when it was all about pacey wingers.. what it comes down to for me is I like proper defenders, if they get forwards to good effect great, but not at the expense of doing their job. It's no good providing the odd assist if we concede because they're stuck up the field.

This is why i'd like to see another wide forward a la Konoplyanka to come in, to offer that pace against teams we have to break down - like Townsend does and Lennon did, but better

Grandspur is like Dracula, only coming out after darkness sets in. He needs to be back in his coffin before the sun rises.

Chronic,

Now is as good a time as any I think, after all, Poch now has the highest win percentage of any Spurs manager in the last 116 years

Chicken escapes the wrath of this article, despite his slightly concerning infatuation with Tim Sherwood, as he is actually behind Poch, so I will excuse his lack of any kind of consistency for now.

======================

I wasn’t infatuated with Sherwood – I just thought he did a good job under the circumstances and deserves credit for it . If we continue to do well under Poch then he will get continued credit and that’s the way it should be IMO. If performances start dipping – then its fair to criticise in areas I believe we are failing.

I can’t comment on Saturday’s game as I couldn’t find the game on anywhere (sandy, take note: if you don’t watch the game don’t give player ratings based in MoTD highlights ). Much to my annoyance, two of my local pubs had West Ham on .. and another had the Man Utd v Leicester game .

Sandy,

Grandspur and chicken are both posters who think their opinion is the only one that can be right. Both being made to look absolute prize priiiickx by Spurs and Poch

=========================

I can’t believe Sandy is mocking any JA606 poster’s opinions. Sandy makes Lawro and Merson look like super pundits. I’ve seen him blame certain players for defeats who didn’t even make the match day squad that day…. Stick to watching Hull .

I’ve never actually seen Ledley’s post an opinion of his own so I can’t really comment about him, other than we all know he is just a short little man, with a small willy, who comes on here to block out the abuse he suffered at the hands of his paedo family. Chin up .

Any chance anyone could explain the sides in these arguments ? Im not up to speed.

I think i know who most of the players are :

Sandy
Chronic
Grand
Chicken
Ledley something
Bales ???

But what are the teams ?

posted on 2/2/15

I gather that ledley's and chicken arent on the same team.

posted on 2/2/15

There are two Ledleys. It isn't this one .

Bales

I like a winger, I won't lie, but if we play what is essentially a 433 without a pacey, direct winger, of course the width from fullback is vital. We essentially had two number tens on Saturday.

I'm here to talk about football

HRH

No Konoplyanka, Lennon gone.. looks like we're putting our faith in Lamela. Good job we've got Walker and Yedlin

for bringing you into Bales

Yes, that's a fair point

Your comments are usually impartial, sensible, non adversarial and informed

Nice extract from this article by moronic

Adebayor cannot be trusted to be the main forward. Yet again he has had his good spell, and as soon as he made his point he has gone back to his lazy self.

http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/295492

This one tells us how we must go full strength for the first tie against Sheff Utd

http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/298834

This one is the cracker

After telling us we cant trust Adebayor to lead the line and then after telling us we need to go full strength against Sheffiedl Utd moronic posts his team for that important game.

Adebayor (who you cant trust) starting even tho he has not played for 11 games with Kane and Eriksen on the bench

Obviously this indicates that our best team does not include Kane or Eriksen

Really moronic is that what you reckon

Our full strength side does not include Eriksen or Kane, wow stunning I think that just about says it all about your credibility, team selection and football knowledge.

Come on moronic tell me I am lying, tell me I misread your articles, tell me I have lost the plot

Tell me once again that our full strength side does not include Kane or Eriksen

Anybody in the whole world agree that our full strength side does not include Kane or Eriksen?

3 articles slaughtering our players and our performances then this

http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/292835

an article about how disappointed he is by the Spurs support <laugh?

http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/293915

Yet another moronic article slaughtering one of our players

http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/296430

That one is a cracker following at least 6 articles slaughtering our players this one tells us moronic is sick of posters slaughtering our players you really could not make it up

I wonder why the word HYPOCRITE springs to mind

moronic I would not worry about me if I were you I would actually have a good look at your own sanity. Kane and Eriksen not in our full strength team

Chicken - Mr Consistent✔

I can’t comment on Saturday’s game as I couldn’t find the game on anywhere (sandy, take note: if you don’t watch the game don’t give player ratings based in MoTD highlights ).

Chicken I watched the whole of Saturdays game, yes the whole 90 minutes as I have watched everyone of Spurs 40 odd games this season in their entirety either on TV, Live Streams or at WHL, only missing the first 45 minutes of the recent home game versus Sunderland due to technical issues. So don`t come on this board Mr High and Mighty saying I cannot give an opinion on any Spurs match. I am more entitled than you, who by your own admission on Saturday, was sitting in a pub getting sozzled watching anybody bar Spurs playing football.

To be honest, the only time I will fling an insult is in retaliation. Maybe I should rise above it – but then why should I? Maybe Admins should be more strict against the culprits who come on here simply to cause disruption (like Ledley’s and sandy for example). Or maybe all posters have a duty not to condone it if they want our board to be more debate-friendly – even if they are a “cyber friend” of such posters. Heated, passionate debates are one thing, but as soon as someone is called delusional, a mug, or anything else derogatory the article may as well just be closed down because its going nowhere – which is bad for the article creator.

I seem to be considered “a different team” since I went against the grain following the appointment of AVB. To be honest, I was surprised how many were actually in favour of that appointment and how protective they were over him – but that is then and this is now. Being unpopular doesn’t bother me and it doesn’t bother me that I’m often in the minority. If my opinions always turned out to be false then I’d maybe try to look at things differently but they’re neither at one end of the scale or the other.

The problem is, posters seem to hold grudges for historic opinions, and even more so, they seem to get rattled if a point they strongly stood by turned out to be wrong in the long run. Who cares?! I reckon the “mean average” age of posters on this board is around 40 but sometimes you’d think it was 11 or 12. PS. I’ve been no angel either and have retaliated like an 10 year old from time to time.

I’m not saying we should lick each other’s backsides but can’t we just accept that opinions are often going to be different?
