dw, if Cahill comes to The Emirates he will fit in perfectly next to Vermaelen despite what some other gooners think.
"Do arsenal fans just ignore all of koscielny's mistakes? he is good for 80% of the time but he is way too error prone. What is the point of defending well for 70 minutes and then giving your opponent a present of a goal?"

Do Arsenal fans ignore Vermaelen's mistakes? Because most of our fans have their tongues firmly up this man's backside. I love Vermaelen, he's a class player but he is just as, if not more, error prone than Koscielny.
This is like the time when Song was better than Essien and Toure
Or like the time when deluded people actualy thought Denilson was vital to our midfield
Or like the time when Almunia was good
Or like the time we didnt need a striker cause we had Bendtner
Or like the time Clichy was better than Cole
---
never thought any of that
kos > cahill
Vermaelen is superior to Koscielny in nearly every aspect
Koscielny is mediocre for a team with title ambitions, soon to be back up hopefuly

Would you like to name those aspects?

You clearly don't watch much football.

I think we should go in with a new offer of £4.5m and make claims of "wear and tear" since last Wednesday.
I'm guessing people are ignoring Vermaelens's 4 mistakes in two games against Barca? Not to mention the fact that he was torn apart against Man Utd and Chelsea.
No you're right
I didnt watch nearly every Arsenal game last season

So are you going to name those 'aspects' or not?
Fact of the matter is there is very little between TV and Kossy in terms of quality so anybody who calls Kossy a poor defender obviously doesn't rate TV either.
btw if Koscielny played for Tottenham you would all be saying how **** he is. FACT!

No I wouldn't.
I you still haven't mentioned which departments Vermaelen is better than Kossy in.

no WE* wouldn't ... (I think )
I swear to god, people look at Kossy's first few months when he was partnered with Squillaci and then his error in the CC Final and regardless of any performances he has made before or after that still call him a poor player. I just don't get it, he is a brilliant footballer and compliments TV so well.
This is why I want Scott Dann because Cahill is too good to sit on our bench which is what he will be doing unless TV/Kossy get injured!

Vermaelen not an excellent defender?
TV v Liverpool: 10 headed clearances, 88% passing success, 3 tackles, 5 interceptions, 1 block, 3 shots, ZERO fouls.
People used to call Tony Adams a donkey for years and years after he was winning titles with Arsenal.
Not to compare the two, but that is what Laurent is up against.
A good reputation is hard earned, but easily lost...
Unless you play for United that is.

Another good post
But tbh, people who judge Kossy based on his first few weeks and that error in the CC final are just kids. They haven't got a clue, so I don't really take them seriously.
I also agree with your second paragraph but only partially. I understand where you're coming from about Cahill being too good for the bench, but have you considered injuries, suspensions and different competitions? I think we could rotate between between those 3 and Djourou. I mean, if you're 3rd choice CB for Arsenal you're almost guaranteed to play regularly with our injury and suspension record.
