Parker

Good news!

I can't see why Westham would want to loan him - they've already got a Big Sam replacement in Nolan - and he'll only lose value sitting on our bench. Ok he shone for them last season, Carroll shone for Newcastle..

Over rated and hugely over priced IMO.

Parker done apparently

6 million?!?!

I hope he proves me wrong. If we lose out on Damiao or Cahill cos we are willing to meet their valuations.........

£6 million for a 30 year old bench warmer?

I'd prefer we save our money and use Livermore or Jenas as back up. Levy seems tight this summer, so why spend money we could be using on another striker or defender?!

Let's hope Palacios is on his way to make up for the money. If only we accepted the £10M Napoli offered us.

"Harry Redknapp completed his third transfer in two days yesterday when he persuaded Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to stump up for Scott Parker."

Levy's washing his hands of this one, can't say I blame him.

Waste of money.

I hope he proves you all wrong.
He scores goals, can tackle and can actually pass a ball to his team mates. That's three positives....plus he needs a change away from the Hammers.....

Most of us are angry because all transfer window Levy has been tight with his wallet. Now suddenly we are splashing out £6Million on a 30 year old with no sell on value and won't even be a first team player!

I think it will be a good signing for us,6 mill for a 30 year old is steep IMO.
I don't think any one can question his attitude when playing as Parker always gives 100 %.
Guarantee if he was only 23 a good majority would be pleased to see him arrive.

Why is everyone so unhappy? Yea, he's 30 but still has a good 3 seasons in him and to be fair he's a good player. I reckon those tricky away games might be where u see him come in handy plus he gives us options in midfield now which we didn't have.

Diarra needs to take a pay cut to join SPurs if Real sell him he can claim a % of lost earning on his contract if he asks for a move he can't.

Jenas has a year left on his deal

I'm all for Parker joining us! It's clear we lack decent strength in depty in midfield.

Huddlestone looked pathetic on Thursday, whilst Livermore is still learning.

Krancjar isnt a CM, Jenas isnt good enough and Palacios is on his way to Stoke.

A midfield of

Bale---Modric--- Parker---Lennon

Looks the nuts! I'd even be tempted to play Modric on the right (in certain games) and put Diarra in the middle.

why is anyone unhappy about this? He is a proven prem player who will come in and kick a few backsides.

i am ok with this assuming that lass fell through and assuming that it doesnt stop us going out and gettin a STRIKER and CENTRE BACK . if we want leandro we need to get him now becuz porto are sniffing over him. and if porto get him then he will end up at chelsea in about two seasons time. sort it out levy ffs

Parker will do a good job for a few seasons if he does come in, we can push for 4th with a few more players

It's a bit 'emperor's new clothes' for me. Every time I've seen him play in the last season and a half, he's severely under-whelmed me.
What I see is a slow-ish average player who seems to be very popular with football insiders - good bloke and all that, friend of Jaimie, the know-little football writers were seduced enough to vote him player of the year etc but the 'He almost single-handedly kept West Ham up' myth has gone a bit too far. The truth is he was instrumental in West Ham getting relegated.

Someone posted here that he has a mate who's a season ticket holder at West Ham and he hates Parker - he slows everything down, does 5 pirouettes every time he gets the ball.

The pro-Parker peeps on here cite:

"He'll give 100%"
"He'll kick some backsides"
"He needs a change from West Ham"

Sorry, but none of that is enough of a reason to sign an average player for £6m who's 31 years old who will join the long list of deadwood eating up our scarce resource of wages cash sooner rather than later I fear

Like someone else said, Jaimie O'Hara's better than Parker.
