As a Liverpool fan said if that had been Azpi, little would have been made of it.

Both incidents were exactly the same in that they were both stamps and neither were seen by the ref. So why does one of the incident become the football story of the day yet the other incident not even get mentioned once after the game?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mousers and mancs
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So they didn't make as much out of it because the stamp was against a United player?

Well seems we are as hard done by as Chelsea....

Awful tackle, he should have gone!

My bad!

There was a Liverpool fan posting some sensible stuff around the same time you made your post...

Well TBH doesn't make a massive difference to us, he did it in the last second of the game anyway...

I think you guys need to ask yourselves why you feel more aggrieved about this stamp than United fans do.

Then, maybe, you will realise that you are a bit weird.

Not right now but all have had their moments and I am sure they do from the sort of people like you.
.................................................

TBH I have read it a few times and really can't understand what you are saying here, the first bit I get the second bit is a little bit unclear.

.............................
So why is it so important to you?
............................

I wouldn't say it is... I post on a huge variety of subjects related to football, for example we once had a topic on United players going to their annual team party (or whatever you call it) and I actually commented on what Buttner was wearing...

In terms of its importance to me its probably at around 0.00001/100 but a post is so easy and requires so little effort that I still make the post despite its lack of import.

Hell I just spent a few paragraphs talking about how I will post unimportant stuff!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whilst I understand what you have written the practice doesn't seem to back it up. You seem determined to make a point yet unwilling to accept others, that puts me in mind of someone who cares quite a bit.

There is no conspiracy against us. It was fun to believe for a while during Jose's first run but now it's just silly. Fans of every club can find isolated incidents of the F.A. treating them harshly or the media painting them in a bad light - we as a fan base just enjoy the idea of it more than most because it formed the foundation of our philosophy through the most successful period in our history.

I must confess missing the feeling of buying Jose's propaganda from time to time. For better or worse it was really fun being a Chelsea fan through that.

Superb the reason for it has been stated several times over....

Costa is bigger news than Skrtel.

---------------------------------

Sorry but that doesn't even begin to explain why Costa was villified for his stamp as if he'd done something heinously wrong whereas Skrtel commits exactly the same offence under exactly the same circumstances and Sky don't even say a single word about it after the game.

Sorry but your argument makes no sense at all. Skrtel is a very well known player who plays for one of the biggest clubs in the country. He's not some unknown.

Even if he was your argument doesn't even begin to explain why Sky didn't once mention the Skrtel stamp after the game.

There is simply no justification for Costa being vilified to the extent that he was yet Skrtel wasn't even mentioned once after the game when both players commited exactly the same offence.

I think you don't quite understand the function of a football forum if you think you only post items of deadly importance on it.

Although I would have to question your sanity if you practice what you preach and only post about important things....

Or, shall we be quite logical and say there is every chance people might make posts about things that aren't hugely important to them?

...........................................................

It does.

Its exactly the same reason the Rooney incident was huge news for days whilst worse tackles make far less news.

Either that or there is a campaign against United as well....

.............................................................

....................................................

He's not some unknown, hes not as big news as Costa though. Do you not agree that Costa is bigger news than Skrtel?

...............................................
Even if he was your argument doesn't even begin to explain why Sky didn't once mention the Skrtel stamp after the game.
..............................................

Yes it does, its less big news. It did also have the added factor of doing absolutely nothing to affect the game as it happened 1 second before the end of the game.

............................................................
There is simply no justification for Costa being vilified to the extent that he was yet Skrtel wasn't even mentioned once after the game when both players commited exactly the same offence.
.................................................

There was no justification for Rooney being bigger news than worse incidents either, its the cost of being a big club with big players though.

If you don't want the media to ever mention your players doing anything wrong stop being successful and winning things. Its the reason United have had to put up with it for so long.

If you ask me its well worth the trade off!

Again I understand, it's interesting the position you take on me as a poster from a simple question.

Your persistence in something that apparently means nothing to you is what puzzles me not your choice of subject.

You have had the views from a few fans that represent a tiny minority of Chelsea fans despite the fact that you already seem to have made your mind up anyway and want to argue their views though it means nothing to you, I just find that unusual. If it really means nothing to you.

A few examples of off topic comments is hardly reflective of your contribution here.

TBH I think half the time they like to make shock statements just to draw attention to themselves, reminds me of Hartson's could have killed him comments after the Rooney incident whilst he will probably watch similar challenges from others and say nothing of it...

It was against Liverpool which probably didn't help Costa considering the make up of their pundits.....

...........................................................

Using your logic though, and based on the fact you have now 2 wrote 2 posts on it, you find me and my views a very important subject...

I am sorry to tell you JDFI I am not interesting in an online relationship with you. Remember now, we are using your logic. To me you have just made 2 posts on a subject you may have only the mildest interest in....

But using your logic, you obviously find me very important

So which is it JFDI?

Am I very important to you?

Or.... is there a chance that posters on an online forum might discuss things they don't see as vitally important?

The latter seems the obvious answer to most....

So bias
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not specifically against Chelsea though.

There is a bias against the big teams (in terms of bad things about them is bigger news) there is a slight favouritism towards Liverpool with the selection of pundits...

There is nothing particularly against Chelsea though, no more than any other big club.

posted on 23/3/15

Sideshow that was to JFDI not to you...

He seems to have this idea that anything you post about on a forum must be something vitally important to you, like Sunday dinner or MASH or speed awareness training....

SAF surely your view that Sky didn't mention the Skrtel stamp at all after the game simply because he doesn't have as high a profile as Costa is a conspiracy theory in itself.

The point Chelsea fans were making, and has since been proven is the the difference in Sky Sports coverage of the Costa alleged stamp and the Skrtel alleged stamp.

It had nothing to do with the FA!

So this article of yours is actually a total load of bollox and shows you have no understanding of the issue.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why would that be a conspiracy theory?

It is widely known and accepted that news companies want to sell/attract viewers and to do so they pick the bigger stories.

Obviously I can't talk for all news companies ever but the vast majority are all about sales/viewers...

TBH to state otherwise would probably be the conspiracy theory!
