Pretty stupid comment that cinci. You are annoyed we finished 15th cause clubs finished above us. Do your powers of logic stretch far enough to realise that as that was our best league position in over 30 years that more small teams finished above us in every other season since you followed football? Thank god we have never been in League One

Don't think I am making it clear to be honest DJ.

What I mean is that many fans talk of the last prem visit as some kind of success, it wasn't.

Comparing it to the disastrous last 30 years for wolves, then maybe, but comparing it to clubs of our stature then it was nothing, all the clubs I listed earlier have had better seasons than we have but do you admire them or their managers? Of course not, because the reality is there was nothing glorious about it, we 'survived' for a bit, the end.

I am just more annoyed that nothing clubs like Wigan, Fulham, Birmingham, Norwich, palace, Charlton, pompey and albion and so on have done better.

... such a massive club as albion with its average attendance of under 25,000 (compared to our 25,600 when we were rubbish and got relegated) and its highest gate this season of just 4,000 less than we managed last season in div 3
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your average number of empty seats this season is 14,000.

...conveniently overlooking this seasons average of 21511 at Wolves. This being only the 7th highest in the Championship.

Massive club...

Listen knuckleheads.

History only remembers trophies.

Our grandchildren won't be interested in stories about finishing 15th.

We have won more trophies in recent years and expanded our honours list, regardless of division.

aries

yes we have a bigger ground AND a bigger fanbase

thanks for pointing out another way in which we are superior

most obviously, like the ranting of the more extreme nationalist scots and welsh and their anti-English sentiments, our noisy neighbours clearly suffer from small club syndrome with the need to trot out silly articles on our board.

Its a good job considering you haven't finished higher than 15th for
35 years

"Wolves aye we"

If Wolves manage to get into the top six in the championship. If they manage to beat, say, the likes of Derby (with strikers by then) over two legs. If they manage to win the final at Wembley - the most lucrative game in the world. If they manage to attract any decent players from the dregs the other 19 clubs don't want. If they manage to finish above 18th next season - we will remind you that it is no big deal. It's trophies that matter.

Are Darren Bent and Jesse Lingaard not strikers?

No.

That's funny. I had us down as finishing 1st last season and winning a league title.

History remembers honours, not divisions.

Winning the League 1 title with a club still getting parachute payments is not an "honour" I would choose to boast about.

You still don't get it.

Whatever division you are in, you are still in the same group of about 20 clubs who will achieve nothing, along with us.

Isn't football exciting these days.

posted on 28/3/15

Football's exciting for us, watching us play the best teams in the country week in week out and not tin pot clubs like Rotherham, Blackpool or Peterborough

I do see your point Cinci. One day our clubs may contend seriously. But right now we ( and hopefully Wolves next season) will have to make do with competing against some PL clubs with the odds stacked very much in their favour.
The Premier is tough. Every point is a battle. However the sense of achievement is palpable. Ask the Burnley fans if they are enjoying the season. Tough as it is they would rather get beat most weeks than get relegated.

We both aren't competing at the top but while this is going on Wolves are winning trophies.

Lots to tell their grandkids about

"Did you win the FA Cup at Wembley in your lifetime, pops?"

"No"

"Did you win the League Cup at Wembley in your lifetime, pops?"

"No"

"Ah - concentrated on winning the top league title, then?"

"No"

"So what did Albion achieve?"

"We stayed up lots of times"

"Feck that, I am supporting Wolves. I prefer their colours, they have a better badge, more fans, more titles. You, pops, are an idiot"

"Get back up the chimney, you little shít"

Especially when your highest ever position in that league was 4th

Do you tell your Grandkids how you got to Div3, pundit?Or do you skip that bit?

I get it completely cinci. You are a moron.

Finishing in the highest league position Wolves have ever achieved since you started following football is nothing to celebrate.

But when Leon Clarke scored a few goals in pre season you had an orgasm.

What is your idea of what supporting a football club is all about? Certainly it's nothing in common with anyone I know

Sorry forum users, I didn't mean to share my opinions that led to completely unnecessary insults from DJ for a change.

He has a good point though, although maybe insults weren't necessary.
