Which will be a harder game for him to start in. Makes sense. Why play your best striker against a pub side to give him a bit of confidence, when you can throw him in against the hardmen defenders of Italy.
Surely it should be Rooney behind Kane with Sterling and Townsend (he performs for England) on the wing, with CM of Henderson and Carrick?

Wilshere is England's best midfielder.
Why do they keep going on about Kane coming on after 3 goals? Surely it'd be better to give Barkley some minutes? That's where we've been lacking so far.

But Wilshere is better for England than Carrick.
The stick that Wilshere gets and the praise that Barkley gets epitomises the mentality in this country, and in Britain in general. Coaches tend to think in a similar way to fans here. No wonder why the 'home nations' are nowhere near the best.
How many goals would have Kane got against this team tonight? They are simply one of the worse International teams I have ever seen.
Wilshere voted England MotM versus Scotland, Estonia, Slovenia, Brazil, San Marino.
Guess the rest of the players were playing against much tougher opposition though...
Couple of those shots that hit the woodwork would definitely have gone in had they come from Kane.
He's quite the jammy after all.
