I think you are being harsh on Soldado, he has never complained despite us never setting up to suit his type of play. He grafts when he does play even if he is up top on his own..
I would personally only shift out the following:
Kaboul................................Too injury prone
Lennon................................Poor end product
Paulinho..............................One paced
Ade......................................Just because!
I don't think we need massive changes, bring in someone similar to Mouthino or Schneiderlin/Wanyama in to midfield, up front we are looking at Llorente & Rodriguez apparently.
In defence it looks like Wimmer is a done deal & possibly Toby Alderweireld, if the reports are to be believed.
If we signed four of these I would be happy, it is a strong possibility we might lose Hugo to PSG or one of the other continental giants. Do we make Michel Vorm number 1 or should we go all out for Begovic?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apolgies in advance for such negativity, but...
'Not complaining' and 'grafting hard' are not going to win us matches. Goals are, and Soldado simply isn't up to it. Lovely bloke and I wish it had worked but come on, he has had a lot of chances now and it just isn't going to happen.
Llorente is not the answer, pretty underwhelming player.
Rodriguez... come on!! He's missed the whole season. Only reason we are being linked is the Poch connection but even he isn't stupid enough to sign someone who hasn't played for a year (and has had one good season in the prem).
I would love schneiderlin, but so would all the big teams and I think it is very unlikely that he would choose us over others. He's probably a level above what we could get now, sadly.
I'll admit I have no answers myself
Greaves, you've got to let Soldado go now mate, it ain't happened and is not likely too either. The ars3hole has completely gone with that one.
He's had chances galore, on his own, in partnerships, in various styles, and under three coaches.
The consistent thing is that he fluffs chances whichever game he starts. He will fluff all types - one on ones, tight angles, volleys, first time hits, headers.
Yes he works hard, but he is a goalscorer, and simply doesn't do his job. Other strikers you can forgive smaller goal tallies - if they are the focal point, holding it up, or if they drop off and create lots of chances - but Soldado is dead weight. Useless.
Shame, because he seems nice, but the truth

GK: Friedel
DF: Kaboul & Chiriches
MF: Lennon, Paulinho, Capoue
ST: Adebayor & Soldado
That's all that really has to go.
Well Lennon doesn't have to go but he will be going and Friedel is leaving anyway.
I would take Holtby and Lennon at Goodison. Holtby is a blue so it would be his dream move, wouldn't think it would take more than £7m for the pair....maybe less if they need the funds/wages
Thought Holtbys loan triggered a auto buy clause for £5m?
Hamburg(er)
Mmmmmm
So he is a loan to buy deal, I will be happy for Lennonat £2m then
I would ship out no more than 5 players and bring in roughly the same amount. Fed up of all these huge changes within the team, then the 'transition' excuse. We have been in transition since Arry left.
Shift out Poolinho, Ade, Capoue, Kaboul , Soldado.
Bring in:
Lacazette/ Dost/ Dybala / Drmic / Tenbeke (sign 2)
Naingolan/ creative midfielder
Nastasic/ Reid/ that Moreno bloke Poch wanted
Slightly unrealistic target, but I can dream.
Lennon and Holtby for 7 million, you do know who our chairman is right?
We want 7 million for Lennon alone

That Moreno bloke is at Liverpool, your thinking of Musacchio
No I am not.

Definite outs for me are:
Kaboul
Friedel (too old now but been a great pro)
Ade
Lennon
Capoue,
All 5 of these are either not in Poch`s plans or past their best.
The following we should consider selling if a decent offer comes in and good replacements can be found:
Fazio
Vlad
Paulinho
Stambouli
Chadli
Holtby
Carroll
Soldado
The following must be kept:
Lloris
Vorm
Walker
Yedlin - no idea if he is any good
JV
Dier
Rose
Davies
Townsend
Lamela
Bentaleb
Dembele
Mason
Eriksen
Kane
We desperately need a top quality centre back, a top quality creative centre midfielder, a top quality forward to take some pressure off Kane and a top quality wide forward, all 4 must fit into Poch`s system though, we have too many players not suited to how Poch wants to play already.
what has lamela done to justify being in the "must be kept" group?

Scored a few goals, had a few assists and scored the Rabona whilst being inconsistent. He has talent and needs persisting with, it would be foolish to cast him aside just yet, he is still a kid, it took fellow Argentinians Ricky and Ossie a couple of years to settle fully into the English game, and they were World Cup winners.

Oh that one, thought you were on about Alberto Moreno who Poch wanted last summer
Pointless selling Lamela unless we get a 20 million offer, but then we still have to find a replacement
Adebayor
Kaboul
Paulinho
Soldado
Capoue
Lennon
Holtby
Some of the others such as Townsend, Lamela and Chiriches would depend on how much we were offered.
Chron, get rid of
Lennon - whilst he's giving false hopes to everton fans that he's good sell whilst he's in reasonably good form. Still don't want him anywhere near the team considering we got another donkey already on the right who couldn't cross if he tried ( walker>
Kaboul - worse centre back in the league
Chirichis - 2nd worse centre back in the league
Fazio - 3rd worse centre back in the league
Paulinho - need I say more
Capoue - bad egg
Adebayor - please for the love of God
Soldado - love his character but not good enough
Before chicken etc start jumping on this yes I canfully admit Lamela has not been good enough but I would give him 1 more season to prove hinself
Drastic changes but I think we have to look at a few other things as well.
Firstly who bought the likes of Chadli, Lamela, Paulinho sack whoever bought to many luxury players as he obviously knows sweet FA about football or the demands of the prem league.
Start again virtually and firstly concentrate on buying some defenders who can actually defend. That will stop half our problems.
Next look at the manager/coach and find out if he actually has a plan B or C for that matter or is his only contribution is to play 4-5-1 and hopefully nick a few points.
Next buy a defensive midfield player who has the experience to hold a team together when we are up against it and panicking even if he is getting on a little bit and we only get two seasons out of him while we sort ourselves out.
Lastly sign at least one decent striker, two if both Ade and Soldado are sold.
Mainly we really need to stop panic buying and doing half a job. Take away Lloris and Eriksen and virtually everybody we have bought over the last 2 or 3 years has been a waste of money.
Do away with the DOF position totally and make sure whoever the manager is he has final say on if he does or does not want a certain player.
Lastly persist with MP as manager until at least the end of next season and if its obvious three quarters of the way thru the season that he is not what we need then make sure we get somebody who can do the job.
I doubt very much we will see the top 4 or another final for at least 3 years but if we stop panic buying and actually start building then there is a good chance that we might actually progress rather than flatter to deceive as we have for the last 3 or 4 years
Kaboul - worse centre back in the league
Chirichis - 2nd worse centre back in the league
Fazio - 3rd worse centre back in the league
---
wes morgan at lesta would have something to say about the above.
also very harsh on fazio.
Fazio is not that bad, ok he is not great but he is nowhere near as bad as Chiriches
