Got a score on Jack Hobbs at 11/4 this morning... He's rather unexposed and hasn't run against anything that competitive yet which is slightly worrying but the way he bolted up at Sandown by 20lengths is very hard to ignore.
Elm Park is the big worry, is on one hell of a streak at the moment and the rain today will be in his favour. Think a reverse forecast of these two is not a bad shout either. John F Kennedy could be a threat too but not sure if in the same class is these, we will see.
Looks as if Gleneagles isn't fancied to stay for 1m4f otherwise he'd be my favourite for the derby. Jack Hobbs it is.

Gosden said yesterday Golden Horn was in tremendous form in the stables, should have listened. Got my money back as a second though.
Bet on Jack Hobbs for the derby earlier as you said
and looks a good bet if Golden Horn goes to the French Derby instead. JH looks better than the rest comfortably.

Yeah I was on legatissimo as well. Couldn't beleive it when it got beat by that 50-1 shot, absolutely ridiculous. Gutted. Hope for a more popular winner of the Derby tomorrow.
Can't see past Golden Horn tomorrow. Won going away from his main rivals in the Dante, and that race is usually a good marker for the Derby.
Outsider is Storm the Stars. Trainer in good form and horse related to Sea the Stars..... 20/1.

Will probably side with Golden Horn as well
Still got my bet on Jack Hobbs as well from a couple of months ago as well so wouldn't mind him winning. Giovanni Canaletto I wouldn't rule out either. Don't think the ground is right for Elm Park.

Meh i've never bought into the whole ground stuff tbh, good horse will win on anything
It affects some horses more than others, think he would have a much better chance with a bit of rain.
Should be a good race tomorrow, looking forward to it.

But a horse that's not as good can look better due to the ground. There's absolutely no doubt that an average horse classed as a 'mudlark' will beat a good horse who wants a sounder surface. Going plays a massive part imo.
