Ings is being way overrated for me. He's done well for Burnley like other strikers in the past have for promoted clubs but he is not ready to be possibly 2nd in line to Sturridge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Ings has done as well as Lambert did last season. He does have better movement than Lambert which is not difficult though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lambert is actually one of the better examples but if you look through the recent history players like Andy Carroll Cameron Jerome, Fuller, Stead, Le Fondre all had decent first seasons but never produced it following seasons.
This season we have Ings, Austin and that old bloke banging them in for Crystal Palace however none are ready for a side wanting to finish in top 4.
It's hard to say what striker Liverpool could sign. A lot depends on the business of the big clubs. They might not want a Liverpool target or might have their own players that are surplus that Liverpool could sign.
Gonna be a fascinating summer for or the top prem clubs either way.
Every team wants a box to box mifielder who can control the game. Hard to find, and what happens when both teams have one

He can score goals but as a team I think we press higher with 2 strikers and that puts the opposition on the back foot. We have defended far too deep this season and given teams like Utd & Arsenal far too much respect. We rolled both those teams over with ease last season with 2 strikers.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
You've got a different team now though, last season, the fear of Suarez pushed teams back and helped LFC a lot. That fear/caution is gone and i dont think your midfield scores enough either. Sturridge is going to need help, if you want top 4 again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly that is why we need to replace the void still left bu Suarez with a quality player which is what I think our priority is. Apart from suarez missing we have virtually the same team with some better additions in depth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you replace Suarez though? The only player that really comes close to his style is Aguero. You need to find someone that can drift wide, drop in the gaps, pick the ball up and run at players and work their ass off as well as scoring at least 20 goals a season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can't replace Luis he is irreplaceable. We need someone that has similar attributes though. Someone who presses defenders into mistakes tirelessly.

Like Sanchez
Few players that will be cheap are
Alves - can play LB too.
Ings
Cech
Milner
Papadopoulos
Will be a lot of competion for them but would be good additions on the cheap, could then go big on a MF target such as Kondogbia or Pranjic or a top class CF.
Hopefully Flanno will be back to cover RB and LB, Illori can be back up CB.
Alve's won't be cheap.
He will want a massive signing on fee and massive wages.
Papadopoulos has barely played for 2 years.

He is back from a long term injury, has started most games and is playing well.
People say we need experience for the cost Dani would be a good option. Not saying it is going to happen, but it's an option.
I've a feeling Alves will end up coming to us.

Very possibly, I do get that impression.
Utd will probably give him some crazy salary so would make sense. Wouldn't want him anyway, has had a very poor season for Barca.
£150k a week, then we'll sign Clyne and leave one of them on the bench.
Clyne would be an excellent signing, Alves would be very far from that.
Nah I think Alves would have plenty to offer, especially against teams where we really need our full backs to do something going forward.

His agent said yesterday that 2 clubs made offers for him. One was a 3 year contract with the option of an additional 1. That is a lot for his age. He sadi Barca could not match that offer.
He also said he wants the same salary as he is on now. I heard that was £130-150k per week. We are getting rid of Johnson and Gerrard this summer and they are 2 of our highest salary earners.
Would a 30+ player be what FSG would pay that money for?

We lack experienced players and winners in our squad. He could be useful for us but no champions league will put him off us unless you lot fall apart in your next 3 games (Praying on a thread string)
Yeah I know what you mean.
I also doubt your owners could justify his wages given his age. We obviously don't give a fack what we spend our money on.
