From a Spurs POV, Arsenal seem to do it when it matters. From Arsenal POV, it's the opposite. Therein lies the mentality of the two clubs.

Got to give them credit for putting that run together.

But having supported Arsenal for 30+ years and seen the rivalry between the clubs, Spurs seem to me to think a good result against Arsenal and that's the season done..

I think spurs have a decent squad and a good manager this time, so with a change of mentality at the club and with the fans they could go places, but simply wanting to beat Arsenal holds them back.

Arsenal tend to not look at it this way, but see the bigger picture.

What is so annoying has been these last 2 games, no goals scored and don't look like scoring we could have been 1 or 2 points behind City with them still to come to the lane if we had beaten Villa and Burnley who Spurs should be beating comfortably but not only did we not beat them we were lucky to even get a point from Burnley as they were better than us as well as Villa.

Don't agree yes Spurs want to beat Arsenal but we want to beat everyone we are just not good enough.

The way i see it is Arsenal always beat the teams they should beat, the only thing that is holding them back is the tricky games like Spurs, Chelsea, Man U, Man C that they seem to struggle, but they roll over the villa, hulls of this world.

Arsenal are around and about the 3rd best team in the country, on average, and after 38 games this shows...

Spurs are about 7th best, and again, it shows after 38 games.

IMO spurs could be a top 4 team if they just changed mentality a bit and invested better.

Arsenal could be the best if they did the same.

put it this way our standards aren't how well Tottenham are doing.

We've been on top of our manager for years and I think he has realised than Arsenal is not his pet personal project.

Years ago, we would be scraping in on fourth place, out of every competition. Not any more.

arsenal are just a better run club tbh......can you imagine wenger lasting that long at spurs....sheet we cant keep a gaffer for 12 months never 12 years.....


mentaly weak club that just never seem to get it quite right....of course in footballing terms i 'hate' arsenal.....but you gotta respect the weay they are run and go about there business.....we shldnt be looking to conquer them anymore than any onther top club....but we shld be looking to emulate there business model......!!!!

For them though,there's always the CL cashcow to comfort them.

Galv....it's all about consistency. The team who is most consistent in a season wins the title. In that regard Chelsea deserves to win the title.

but we shld be looking to emulate there business model......!!!!

I agree, its a sound model and one that Spurs are capable of emulating with the right investment and strategy. The new stadium will show some spurs fans just how hard it was for Arsenal and how well AW did keeping them in the CL

But once its done things will change for Spurs.

Our net spend is in the negative, so for being a regular top 7 side the past few years we've done good business too. Unlike Arsenal though we've not spent on any big marquee signings, and maybe because of where we are we've been unable to.

Was told several times that I was "bitter" but I did say plenty of times when you were winning games with all those late, late winners that you were in a false position and had a good run of luck. You put a fantastic run around January and February, but you've been really average for much of the season and you don't win with the class and fluidity and decisiveness that the current top 4 teams (and even Liverpool) do. All your games are a struggle compared to even Southampton who win more comfortably. You need extra quality, depth and experience in your team.

yes....but even thou for us....we laid out 'big money' it still was only potential we cld afford...short of bobby s who had garnered somewhat of a rep.....its a cycle...can't safford CL level; wages....so cant attract CL standard players.....without those players....can't get in the CL.

unless you get rich like chels and city have....you ALMOST NEEDED TO BE IN FROM THE OFF.

tbf there were a lot of dîckheads after the 2-1 saying that we are better than Arsenal.
