Man United lol
£380M worth of debt and growing, spending £70M on Di Maria to sit on the bench, Falcao? A youth academy that's produced nothing since Wes Brown.
Man United were only as good as Fergie, the legacy left by him was somewhat Mourinho-esq in that it cared relatively little about the long-term stability of the club (which can have it's positives in terms of trophies). Next we'll be hearing it's Liverpool!
I think West Ham do a reasonable sound job of many of the points listed, i.e. remembering that they're actually a football club and not just a business.
Great teams, your natural scouse scepticism will never let you rest, will it!
Tbh, i feel my club is very well run and there are numerous facts to back this up, but it does have it failings and I'm not blind to that.
Now if you asked me am i happy with the way my club is run i could honestly and easily say YES

United still owe something like half a billion
----------------
Yeah but it's hard earned legitimate proper debt done the proper way, not like these oil clubs and their dodgy underhand dealings
What and you think the Glaziers are not dodgy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well the ones doing the house across the road certainly look dodgy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably those Irish gypsies that come round knock on your door asking if you want new windows fitted/a new drive paving. You say no then a couple of days later you find your house burgled...
This is spanning ten years isn't it?

Couldn't make it up. Not only did you just pay £16m for one of our youth products, but Man Utd have the most youth products in the football league.

Hello is that it ????
Your clearly not a season ticket holder are you ?
Do you mind the amount the supporters have paid out in the 10 years to finance share holders dividends and Stadium relocation aka S/K equity and suffered the years of lost ambition?

When I went to the Emirates I didn't really enjoy it. Too many posh numpties who were there for the day out more than the football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want "comfort" go to the Emirates. Why would anyone want bloody comfort at football?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I went to see Villa vs Arsenal in an FA Cup, it just felt like I was watching a friendly or something, it was very strange.
I've to OT a couple of times and went home a little annoyed at the atmosphere, but nothing like this. I was surrounded by people talking about their every day lives, like the football was just there as a show peice.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bollox Emirates can be a great venue on a big night.
Not to mention how we absolutwly dominated OT in the cup this year... didn't hear a peep from you lot
HE LEFT COS YOUR SHlT, HE LEFT COS YOUR SHlllT OH DANNY WELBECK HE LEFT COS YOUR SHlT.
Home atmosphere can be conflicting when people aren't happy with Wenger but we have the best away support in the country
Leeds have to be the best run club

Every club thinks they have the best away support.
Inventor loosing the plot
Think you will find Danny left to get more opportunities as a CF. That's working out well !
He had ample chances at United and never really progressed fast enough. New manager came in and a new opportunity for the lad. Hope he does well but was never going to be no.1 striker at United.

No I'm not currently a ST holder what relevance does that have?
You said best run clubs. Considering Southampton seem to always remain competitive, financially stable, a top class youth policy and are great when picking coaches I think they're very well run.
Don't see what the problem is but as many have mentioned your article is a bit of a mess how can you judge through all categories? I'm just going by the title itself and Southampton are up there for me very smooth club in transition
Don't know what Chelsea are valued at now but they must be pretty well run as just over 10 yrs ago they were valued at £1
Soton have had recent success, but I think they're badly run. If you keep changing things and losing players it's only a matter of time before it goes very wrong.
ok, but the article is clearly asking which club over the last years has been the most well run, returning the supporters satisfaction.
I do agree if i were a Southampton supporter i would be a happy chappie.
Judge through all of the categories ?
I don't see the issue, from a CFC perspective my club does well in the majority and lets its self down in others.
I think the point is after looking at all of these parameters does your club make the supporter happy
Im chuffed with CFC !
None of them and all of them at the same time based on the criteria. It depends on whose interests you are talking about.
It depends if you mean by the best run someone who stays at the top or someone that has undergone significant improvement in the last ten years. In the latter, I would say someone like Stoke or Southampton or City given the transformation.
Staying at the top, then the two that have maintained it better are United and Chelsea. Both still have flaws though (United in terms of the money taken out of them, Chelsea in terms of stockpiling players and the detrimental effect that can have on the wider game).
It really is a question that can't be answered mad most will say their own.
Apart from Newcastle, Blackpool or Portsmouth....
Emirates is a strange stadium, it is a very good experience getting to the ground, around the ground and behind the stands in the bars etc, you get a great view but it does lack a certain something. Soul maybe.
