on the actual point..if only there was a recent example of a player wanting to leave that ended up staying due to the contract situation that we forced to hold him to....

im struggling to see where all the hate for Sterling stems from.

disapointment more from me having seen him progress on LFCTV
Scouse.
Who are you referring to?
I'm sure it's been said a million times already in this thread, but I haven't been following it so I'll say my piece anyway.
If you come to the club's annual awards ceremony to pick up the young player of the year award and your own fans boo you, followed by a tirade of abuse from the great & the good (I use the terms metaphorically you understand) of the Scouse, then I'd be off too.

agree completely. To me it just further strengthens how distant some people really are from reality. In a day when Ireland will vote Yes to marraige Equality..it seems not all humans are allowed the freedom to choose where to work

Also... this forum would be so much better if everyone didnt resort to bullying and picking others up on spelling errors. Pathetic really

Implying the boos weren't deserved. There's a correct way to leave the club that made you,e.g. Alonso, then there's the wrong way to go about it.

no there isnt.... Sterling has done nothing to warrant boos. As the poster said he collected an award for young player of the year. HE HAD ALREADY GIVEN HIS SERVICE
Bros.
That's the internet for you, I'm afraid. Manners go out the window and bullying is the norm.

Purposefully doing bad at your job for 6 months is unforgivable, why should Liverpool make this transfer as hard as possible for him.

There is absolutely no way for you to know it was intentional... if there's been a long running contract dispute, he just might not have been happy. Players play best when they're comfortable, doesn't look like he was. It's sentences like yours that are everything wrong with the collective group 'football fans' these days.

'It's' should be capitalised as it's at the beginning of the sentence. Also, there should be a comma before 'lads'.

He could be referring to a party that's just full of blokes.
If he was answering the question "Who is going to be at the party?", then his response is fine. Capital letter & full stop aside.

No, there isn’t any way to know, but that’s irrelevant.
The bottom line is that he couldn’t get his head together to put in performances, so I don’t trust him to do it next season, either, whether deliberate or not.
Suarez did it in a couple of friendlies, but when it came to competitive matches, the only thing that mattered to him while he was on the pitch was winning the match.
Don’t care if Sterling couldn’t help it, don’t care what he does next, don’t care if it’s his fault, and don’t care to condemn him.....just want him to fvck off.

I get that. But I don't think it's something Sterling should be condemned for. You've had some far worse performers who are staying!
He has a completely different attitude to Suarez, and even down to the transfer being to a weaker club, this situation is just different. Players like Suarez will give you 100% when they're on the pitch, virtually without fail. Sterling, not so much. If he wants to leave, you either let him leave or have an unhappy, under performing player on your books. It's all well and good trying to take hard line with him, but I firmly believe it will fail.
You are correct though, he should just leave.
