I never had any fear that FSG would sack Rodgers, until this scoreline. I hope they don't but it could happen now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The lack of signings in January would suggest they have lost faith.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would it? Who was available? We signed a lot of players that season. You can't just keep throwing money at things, especially considering the FFP situation only a few months previous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

A striker was an absolute must in January, that is obvious to any owners, regardless of the cost. Had we got one, we could have scraped 4th.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Possibly but we thought we had Sturridge coming back and of course the two internationals we signed might have started performing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Taking a risk on Sturridge being fit would have been short sighted. Lambert and Balotelli had their chances, albeit limited in Lamberts case. If you want to compete, decent money needs to be spent on strikers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree but you don't just fire money at the first opportunity at everything, you need time to see how things pan out with the money you've already spent. Over time, you can then make judgements. Five months isn't enough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Absolutely, but, the money generated by staying in the CL would have made up for signing someone. Utd have been bang average, and were there for the taking. A decent striker would have probably done that.

Rodgers transfer record is generally diabolical. He has final say remember, his words. No money spent, to me shows a lack of confidence in the manager.

We have a manager who has just missed out on top four, which we have been in only once in the last five years, and now you want to sack him!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just missed out on top four? We finished 8 points off it, and below Tottenham.

-----

Agree fans like this are toxins to the club. Quite happy to accept mediocrity.

We have won one trophy in 8 ffffing years! He has us challenging for the title with teams like Chelsea, City and United spending millions!

He lost the third best player in the world last summer....and only just missed out on targets like Sanchez and Costa, which wasn't his fault!!

You fickle idiots. I'm guessing the same lot who wanted Rafa out!

A manager who doesn't know how to defend after spending fortunes on defenders has to go.

Yeah not to mention his pathetic domestic trophy record too. Fact is we have a manager who has never won a trophy managing us. Facking pathetic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gerrard had never won a trophy when he started playing for us.(insert host of other examples here)

That's a stupid argument. He managed clubs who don't win trophies. We win few also. It's about progression, if I feel the manager can progress us, I'm happy. If I feel he can't, I'm not.

After this season and this result, if others want him gone, I don't blame them, however I believe he is the right man for the job.

Suarez had us challenging for the title, not Rodgers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm pretty sure Suarez was in the team 2 seasons ago when we finished 7th.

Liverpool are well and truly facked.

Nothing against rodgers but how many times have we let in 3 goals this season. He can't defend and u can't defend the u need explosive forwards to out gun opponents. For not able to defend he has to go. He has had three years to fix that. Teams like palace and Stoke should not be smashing three or more against is on a regular basis

If you want to change managers everytime something goes messed up, then go support Chelsea or City. I would rather give managers like Rafa and Brendan who have proved they can challenge the title, atleast another year to make up for their mistakes!

That's a bit melodramatic. But changes are required.

These fans need to forget that we aren't in the Rafalution when the main competitors were Chelsea, Arsenal and United!

City over Kenny's and Brendan's time have meant we aren't guaranteed a spot in the top four!

And he was the 15th-20th best player in the world back the. It was only last season he started having Ronaldo/Messi form.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Only 15-20th best player? Is that according to FIFA stats? You sure he wasn't 13th or 14th?

Why do we have so many clean sheets then?

I don't think he has an issue with having teams defend. When he attacks teams, you naturally concede more but when you're out scoring them, it's fine. That was the issue with the start of this season, we were no longer scoring goals, due to having two poor choices as strikers in Balotelli and Lambert and thus conceded more than we scored. Basic stuff.

So in order to correct that, Rodgers did the right thing(too late in my opinion) he concentrated on tightening the defence, we then conceded less and had a chance of winning games. Finally we took the final step and put Sterling upfront as the strikers were still useless and we scored more goals, went on a run of great form, until the Sterling contract situation reared its ugly head.

For me Rodgers always gets it right in the end. He sees what's wrong and fixes it, unfortunately with no reliable striker and all fixes attempted, it wasn't enough.

Of course the manager plays a role in attracting players, pretty silly if you don't believe that. The manager they play under is an influencing factor to top players.

Klopp or Ancelotti would much more likely attract them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
correct, the players play under rodgers, not ayre......in fact i would doubt in transfers that the player ever meets the chief exec, i would have thought the agent haggls with the moneyman and the player speaks with the manager.

That's not what happens. We have people in specific roles, dedicated to this.

Maybe if Klopp came he could bring some Dortmund players...
