We dont need a year to source one, because one of the best in the business is avilible and leaving west london

Well, I do agree that if Cech is available for £10m then my argument does change.
Just not sure Chelsea will allow him to move to you, whatever they may have told the player, he has a contract until June 2016, and they can refuse to allow him to join a rival.
Stetty
What you don't understand is this debate is not just about now but what consequences it will bear for the future.
Selling one world clas (cr7) player to Madrid for then world record fee can be excused. Selling another for pennies will seriously damage utds image. And before long they will come calling for Herrera or depay

So will keeping a player against his will in the eyes of other players.
And before long they will come calling for Herrera or depay
---------------------
Well cross that bridge when it comes to it.
We're only selling for pennies because ddg didn't wanna sign any contract he was offered.
We either don't buy players with a high chance of joining Real one day or we sell them if they don't sign a new contract with at least 2 years left on their contract.

The club should do the latter; alas over recent years they seem to have spent too much time and money doing the former.
Fact excuses are just excuses.
What will mourinho do in this situation play hardball or accept his best player who he heavily relies on is feeling homesick and let him join madrid. I somehow think not.
This ruthless is the reason why players at Chelsea will not entertain
way i see it is wevee benefitted from these sorta situations before (rvp) it happens. let it go. move on. that football.

hmm, yes and no stretty, i think the eventual fee for rvp was £24m, at the time that seemed like a decent enough bargain for someone who had been top PL scorer twice in a row, but in retrospect it was about right for a player who would give you one great season, two mediocre ones, and then probably leave for very little.
not sure it is comparable to letting a £40-50m player leave for £20m (he says, plucking random figures from the air).
the suggestion of joining other clubs.
You accept you join Chelsea, madrid , barca and Munich till they no longer need you. Not till when you childhood club come calling, or you are feeling homesick, or your fav manager poaches you, or you have one year left on your contrat and can bully you way out etc etc
This are the excuses the likes of soton, everton , spurs, arsenal pre rvp sale, needed to sell their players

Utter dross.
OK stretty
Tell me what will Bayern, Chelsea, Madrid, or bar a do in this situation?
Sell the player.

I might leave you two to it, but will just say that, taking the clubs Ginger mentioned, when did they last lose a player they wanted to keep? Ignore the price received, when did a key first 11 player leave any of those clubs?
They wouldn't and that is what separates the biggest club from the rest.
Despite all the player power this clubs are able to exert t!heir will because of their financial muscle.
They wouldn't even sell their mediocre players if they thought they had a role to play even with one year left on their contract. And this power play has helped them not only get maximum value for their players but also keep other clubs away.

Perhaps the point is that what you term "key first eleven players" at Madrid don't generally want to leave. Madrid have repeatedly stated that they do not want to retain any players against their will.
Madrid didn't want to lose Di María, they just weren't willing to meet his wage demands. They got a very good offer for him and let him go.
As Stretty said, could you offer me an example of a player saying he wants to leave Madrid and not being allowed to?
There are examples though. Back in the day, Ribery publicly declared he wanted to move to Madrid, but Bayern blocked the deal. Worked a treat, both for Bayern and for the player.

If he wants to go back home to Madrid so much, why not just offer him to Atletico? They could give us Oblak and £20m. Wishful thinking I know but that would certainly p|ss off those vultures at the Bernabeau.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You said it, wishful thinking. Why on earth would a club that has to be as careful with their pennies as Atlético fork out 20M on an area they've got perfectly covered?
Stretty
That is the point I am making, these clubs do not even have that option on the table in the first place. And players realise that they are more likely to end up playing for the reserves than have their transfer request met. So in many situations this unhappiness usually dissipates.
I will compare it to marriage. back in the day a woman will get married and might be unhappy but as divorce was not an option the stuck it out and ended up the happy old couple we see and admire. These days a woman has the divorce option so readily and can opt for it at the first sign of unhappiness or a better prospect
The likes of chelsea , Madrid, bar a, Munich have taken the option of leaving off the menu completely just like women from years ago that things eventually work itself out. See robben and ribery at Munich,

Not at all. They didnt keep him against his will at all, I think hes has decided this season that he wants to leave to get more mins as he cant shift kroos modric.
Khedira didn't leave earlier because he couldn't find a club willing to meet his own wage demands.
He is going to be a massive loss to you, he was by far your best player last year and won you more points then any outfield player did.
Valdes also is not great and won't be used to being so busy in goal, he'd go long periods fo games without touching the ball at Barca, in the PL at united with your poor defense he's goign to be a hell of a lot busier, you should buy lloris or Begovic is you sell DDG, VV won't cut it.
