Nah, they were cousins close enough for you to think they were brothers though.

Oh trust me if you have watched it only once, you missed around 75% of the show, especially the subtle stuff that made The Wire the GOAT.

Well 5 years later and i finished lost......wtf?!? Season 1-3 brilliant tv, season 4&5 ok, but 6 was total rubbish......and that endingbasically the same situation imo as old george rr martin, briliant idea that just gets totally lost (pun intended), at least cut the last 5 minutes of the ending to have a little more "sense"

Yeah it's a shame what happened with Lost. I think the writers simply bit off more than they could chew.

They wanted to make it the greatest tv show ever with strange and mysterious things happening throughout every episode that were never fully explained at the end.

I'm sure if I went through all of Lost again I could write an essay on all the things that were either never explained properly, not explained at all or that just made no sense.

I think that the writers were just making it up as they went along pretty much. They might have had some vague idea of how they wanted it to end but if they did they executed it very poorly.

It's a shame because for the most part it was an epic show but a lot of people remember it now as crap and unmemorable because of how poor the last season was and how unsatisfying the ending was.

Trust me, you missed a tonne of stuff. Everyone who rewatches it will tell you the same thing. I am not even talking about the dialogue or the plot but in the context of the themes explored in the show.

4zA you seen Red Road?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
nope
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fair enough just thought I'd ask as you're quite up to date with the newest US shows.

Anyone seen Aquarius ? It's David Duchovny's new show, set in the 60's, something to do with him hunting down Charles Manson.

Has nobody here watched Bates Motel ?? Awesome show.

It's the prequel to the Psycho movies and we see a younger Norman Bates growing up as a 17/18 year old kid with his Mother at the Bates Motel that they bought.

It's just been renewed for a fourth and fifth season and is definitely one of the best shows I've watched over the last year.

A must if you liked the Psycho movies. I actually think it's better as there's so much more to it than the movies. More characters, lots of plotlines etc.

It must be doing well in the States but I must be the only person watching it here as nobody ever mentions it.

I THINK I REMEBER READING/HEARING SOMEWHERE THAT IT WAS ONLY EVER SUPPOSED TO BE 2 SEASONS....BUT AS IT TOOK OFF SO WELL.....MORE SEASONS WERE COMMISIONED AND SO THE WRITERS JUST PADDED IT OUT....

I didn't realise that Lost was only ever meant to be two seasons.

In hindsight two or three seasons would have been about right seeing that it started going downhill from about season 4 onwards.

It sounds plausible though

*SPOILER*

I knew early on that Lost was going to involve time travel. I remember saying that to a mate and he totally rejected the idea.

Anyway it was such a great series for a while but it really lost it's way. All that nonsense about them having to go back to island after they escaped and Jack losing the plot. Just felt like padding the whole thing out. I bet that was never part of the original scripts/ideas for the show when they started out.

It was a victim of it's own success and popularity. Ironically it probably would have been a much better show had it not got so popular.

**LOST SPOILER**

Agree Superb, and season 6 with all the alternative life stuff was awful, and really boring - apart from near the end, i enjoyed the part with Desmond collecting everybody, but like the 12 episodes before that were painful.

And agree it did seem that lost should have been maybe 4 seasons just to round it off nicely and give more background on the island and the reasoning behind the dharma people, and the others etc which is never really touched on.
