It's ok for City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Utd to spend big money but nobody else.

We make millions and millions from commercial deals and tv money so don't worry about us.

And the fact that you are relating and believing the €41m price just because you saw it on here is laughable.

----

That isn't what I said now, is it. Please read my comments again. I said it's unusual for Liverpool to be spending on relatively unproven, or unknown players.I understand you make a lot of money, but if the last decade is any indicator, you're also very adept at wasting it. My point wasn't so much that you shouldn't be spending £30m (or £29m) more that it was very unusual for you to do it... Isn't Carroll the only player you've ever spent more than £30m on?

Like it or not, you are more financially constrained than those others listed.

Who cares. I am just glas we spent some cash. I ly a week ago everyone was laughing or moaning on the freebies we were buying lol.

As for firmino, I have never seen him play pr heard of him until last week. But u like markovic at least his stats look decent. Let's see if he can do it in the premiere league

Spending large sums, that should read. Most of your signings have either been cheap, or from the PL, where you've spent more.

I have no idea who was in for him, and neither does anyone else on here.

We weren't even in for him until yesterday

We have done well to get him because he is highly rated, has great stats in the Bundesliga, and has made a decent start to his Brazil career.

Where have you plucked 41m Euro from?

Liverpool ineptly Hoffenheim star

In the Copa America, he makes present for powerful sensation - and in Hoffenheim one must probably look forward to a record amount. As the "image" reported offensive players Roberto Firmino changes from the Kraichgauern on the island. And the giants Liverpool takes it deep into their pockets. Accordingly, the Reds remit incredible 41 million euros to the TSG.

A little later, the former England's most successful club confirmed the transfer. It is only from the medical check in order to make the deal perfectly. Thus the 23-year-old would be the most expensive transfer in the Bundesliga. In England Firmino is to receive a five-year contract. According Hoffenheim Brazilian scored 47 goals in 151 games for the TSG. (JWU).

Sorry for the shocking translation of the article

No idea why it translates "schnappt sich" to "ineptly"!
Schnappt means grab or catch, and sich themselves (in this context!)

Yes it goes upto 41 mil euros which is 29 million in sterling. But initial payment is 21 mil quid. What is the big confusion?

Looks like a decent signing
Can't believe we're getting business done so early
Pretty impressive by Ayre and co
Lets hope Firmino doesn't get injured before his medical

A full Brazilian international isn't really an 'unknown'.

That being said I've got no idea but he's just as proven as Depay who cost roughly the same.

pointless to compare him to depay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
agreed, they play in different positions and all Depay's goals are from freekicks against terrible goalkeepers

I thought the exchange rate was still at like 1.2-1.3. It's gone back up by a lot, that's where my confusion came from.

So now you are worried about Liverpool spending beyond our means?

This is getting better and better!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Never a joyful occasion when a fellow english club has financial issues.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Their finance is fine, they've sold Torres for £50m, Suarez for £60m, Sterling for £45m (approximate).

Their problem is:

Carroll - £35m
Lallana - £27m
Lovren - £20m
Markovic - £19m
Aquilani - £17m
Balotelli - £16m
Allen - £15m

7 goals in 33 league games last year... why are people acting like he is a huge signing, because he has played a few times for Brazil?
