yeah chances created are good
if we had more than giroud, ozil would have many more assists
One stat often used to define a player not being good is 'signed for Liverpool'.
Before signing for Liverpool the same players are often seen as good.
I can't comment on how good Firmino is as I can't recall ever seeing him play. I'm just saying, stats are all well and good but no always the best indicator. Carrick, for example, has barely any assists or chances created, but is one of our best players.
stats can be misleading obviously
I think that in the clear majority of the cases they aren't though. The exceptions give the honest, well meaning stats a bad name is all. The Bast@rds

Depends which stats you look at. For an attacking midfielder you'd look at different stats to a sitting midfielder.

not liverpool fans, i mean you personally
Having watched him his entire career end to end, I'll never be convinced Carrick was anything more than a decent player who was underrated for a while then grossly overrated towards the end.
Stats will back me up

I will take your opinion with a pinch of salt. I think he was vastly under rated for United for a years, but has now become one of the most important players of the last decade, for us.
We had something like an 80% win rate with him, and 40 something% without him.

Maybe because the players around him over those 10 years have progressively gone from top class, to, well, shall we say not quite top class? It's bound to make him look better when he's next to someone like Cleverly instead of Scholes!
Will he out score Andy Carroll this season? Let's see.

He looked quite good yesterday.

I'd suggest the opposite, the less good players around him the harder Carrick's job became.
He looked okay yesterday, still a bit pricey for what he brings (especially considering some Liverpool fans took the mick out of the Martial signing)
