Absolute shambles of a series, yes England won the ashes, but that was not proper test cricket, 35 minutes of cricket on a test Match Saturday is a complete joke, 2 and 3 day tests will soon be turning into one day tests.
I would want my money back, paying good money for 35 minutes of cricket.

And Man Utd to come.
a big mention to for Cook.. captained much better in this series...

How much is this down to Bayliss and Fabrace?
2 out of 3 ashes for Cooky, not bad.
Clarke retires confirmed. Credit to a great player.
Joe Root moved up to No. 1 batsman in the world as well.
Well done Rooooooooty!
I am baffled. Not that England won. By the manner Aussies crumbled. Not like them.
I don't understand Johnson.
Why are some people surprised at England winning this? 8/9 last ashes series have been won by the home team. Getting a touch predictable, and that's not just the ashes just generally test cricket around the world.
Maybe touring Test teams don't do enough to get used to conditions in the countries they're visiting these days (for economic reasons).
Afridi, it is a little known fact that during the long period of Australian supremacy from 1989 until 2005, which saw the game almost die a slow death in England, agreement was reached between the media moguls, Murdoch (TV rights UK) and Packer (then TV rights Australia), that The Ashes should be shared on a regular basis in order to protect and maintain their mutual interests in TV revenue streams.
Leeds looking good, are you watching?
Ozzie, did not realise us but that makes sense a out the revenue and keeping the finances running...
Yes, watching Leeds game. Impressed with Dallas, seem to have a better midfield this season just need to give wood more service upfront... Hopefully gaps will open up second half and we'll bang in a few ... Leeds Leeds Leeds!!!!
I can see England dominating for the next few years... Australia don't have any batsmen of note.. Warner maybe.. Rodgers and now Clarke have retired.. they need 5 new batsmen at least..
Engladwhoelse, we had this same conversation 18 months ago. Both teams will overahaul, you're right about Aus batting, but Eng will need a new opener Lythe has been woeful (hope he doesn't get an OBE for beating the aussies with his contribution), Bell wont be around next Ashes, Jimmy will be on the after dinner circuit.
I just hope do better against Bangladesh next tour, losing to them would be embarrassing wouldn't it
No Anderson will probably be around..bell may not be. But I think he will start to get runs again. Hes just come off a poor spell..so maybe around.
Cook likes Australian wickets.. Though he failed last time.
It will come down to England vs Australian bowling again.. I fancy England to bowl aussies cheaply,
he wont have to face the likes of Harris.
I would put Moeen upto 6 at the Oval. Looks a better player than Stokes and Buttler.. If Moeen Ali is to remain in the side.. hes got to turn himself into a number 6. hes not a front line spinner.
Harsh on him.. But we need a quality spinner.. for when the conditions require.
Maybe go for rashid..it all depends on the conditions at the oval. If the weather is warm and sunny. you could produce a dry wicket..
But its more likely there will be grass on that pitch aswell. time will tell I suppose..
I wouldn't read too much into any home series victories anymore. Even Bangladesh can win home matches these days.
The only team that hasn't had a poor away record is SA, and they also have issues with their ageing players coming to the end of their careers. Can't see steyn playing any longer than 2 years from now.
It would be interesting to see how England do in uae and in sa.
Note so many captains have been forced to retire. Take ponting, Strauss, Clarke, dhoni and Graeme smith. Test cricket is no longer a competitive form of cricket. You only need to look at some of the stats.
Credit to Misba. He wasn't forced to retire. He did so on his own terms.
"Who else" is loving Cook again?
Congratulations to England for regaining the Ashes.
Yes because he has been more positive.. 6 slips at one point. positive attitude rubs off on the players.
Think hes had a tendency to wait and see sometimes.. much better this series.
