The right time if they have the ideal replacement ready but it doesn't appear to be the case, this sounds like one disagreement too far.
Who knows how long finding a new replacement will take without panicking and installing ollie back in.
The sports science side is crucial to our Club, I was talking to a Forest fan today who was bemoaning how their seasons keep getting way laid with far too many injuries.
Ps didn't know they'd bought Matt Mills!
Don't be too sure, Joby, that some part of this decision isn't performance related. 80% of last season was a week-by-week disaster, with the owners' investment hanging very much in the balance. Like Dunkirk, our escape was a miracle, but one preceded by an embarrassing rout....
The BBC's Pat Murphy seems to have been briefed off the record that the club decided that the manager as well as the players had to carry the can for the misbehaviour in Thailand.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33339566
Now, I seem to recall at least one poster on this site alleging that the girls involved in that incident had been arranged by the hotel at the behest of the *Thai* end of the club. That could, of course, be complete cobblers, but if there's even a smidgin of truth in it, then there's a huge can of worms just waiting to have its lid popped.
Whe. Southampton made a shock change of manager they have gone from strength to strength.
This could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Let's hope so.
Still excited for the new season, bring it on. We are Premier League!!! Onwards and upwards gents. Keep smiling.
As an outsider, I can only presume the club have held him responsible, as manager, for the players' conduct, including on the Thailand tour.
Ah, just seen the BBC's Pat Murphy's report. It makes sense.
So Nigel loses it with the owners over the Sacking of his son who i am sure you will agree is only at the club because of his dad taking a place again this season that would be taken by one of our youth development players.
Top has spent time this year as a buddist monk and i have just come back from south east asia and they really would not of liked the aggressive nature of NP's style of management.
So what a great end to the season and thank you for taking us to where we are but Nigel you are a bully and not bigger than the owners the media or my great club
Relegation favourites now! Cheers the Board or making the biggest mistake in our history! Pisssssed offffff!!
No decent managers out there and we'll lose everything good about us. Terrible terrible decision.
I think I'm going to give football a rest for a while, probably the most depressing moment since we or relegated go League 1 😏
Nev
Dissapointed but not surprised in your post.
You say NP " lost it" with the owners, again using terms that can add weight to your stereotypical dislike of him.
My understanding was there was NO " losing it", rather it was an understanding from both sides that they were coming at things from different sides and that the best outcome for all was for NP to be relieved of his duties.
Also you can't resist throwing the " bully" word in again, let's hope LCFC consult you over the next appointment to make sure they it meets your approval 😉
Cannot believe the overreaction on here. The bloke was hardly Mourinho. Yes he did fantastic but he was a walking PR nightmare. Not forgetting most of last season was a struggle. We need more than that to become a 'Premier' league club.
To think we will be instantly relegated because of this is naive at best. Allardyce, Moyes and Di Matteo have far superior CVs to Pearson and I think we will find little change in the players attitudes. We may also find 'untouchable' players dropped when they don't perform.....
Please can we all remember whatever happens we support Leicester City not Nigel Pearson.
CDUBYA, the reason a lot of people are upset is because we support City and NP has given us success that we were craving for a very long time and some unbelievable moments. And personally, I couldn't give a flying fook if he's a PR disaster or not. I'd rather jump about going mental because we've just stuck five past United or have the unmitigated joy of the run in we've just had than lose any sleep because he upset a few journalists.
But now we move on. I think it's fair to say this next appointment is the most crucial the club have had to make in a very long time. We need someone who can come in and motivate and get the squad playing like Nigel did, and that's not going to be easy seeing as virtually all of the players were Pearson signings and would run through brick walls for him.
David Moyes wouldn't be a bad shout in my opinion.
I guess time will tell Fox but I feel with the right appointment this could really push us on to the next level ala Saints/Atkins/Pottechino.
Some of the names that are being put around are frightening. Jon Carver is reported as being interested in applying this morning! I would literally burn my season ticket.
Of the names out there Moyes would absolutely be the best shout. I think we need a very steady pair of hands and prior experience in the PL should be minimum criteria.
If the picture thats emerging is true and Nigel has been sacked because of his reaction to the dismissal of Pearson junior, then the breakdown is understandable. As good as he is, after the incidents and sackinggate last year, this was always a likely outcome at some point. Unfortunely, Nigel is his own worst enemy, stubborn to the core and that has been his downfall.
Ooh i dont like the bloke so what he kept us up. You would think he was More important than the owners, supporters and the club if you read some of the hysteria on here "the owners have ruined our club" WTF they have saved this club shown belief in the manager but you can't put up with the amount of poo he has put them through indefinitely.he is a bully not St Nigel.
This wasn't mutual at the board had had enough of him.
The coaching staff did not find out till 5.00pm and its them i feel for.
we will get another manager he might heaven forbide be better ?
Nev
It was a mutual understanding from both sides that they could not work together anymore.
The coaching staff didn't find out until 1700, why does that make you feel sorry for them?
After the decision was taken they were the first to know.
I am not one who believes that the owners have ruined our club, managers come and managers go.
NP was neither a Saint or a bully, he was a human being trying to do a job that he is good at and loves to the best of his ability.
If we had all been offered 14th place at the start of the season we would have jumped up and down for joy and said thank you very much.
Whether we got there in a way that pleased everyone is a point for debate, but we got there.
Burnley & QPR would love to have had a manager making headlines for the wrong reasons but still be in the Premier League.
No person is bigger than our club, but I for one will be raising a glass tonight to thank NP for what he has done for our club.
Two promotions, a play off finish and retention of Premier League status. It amazes me that some people still can't agree that the bloke was a great manager for us. I just hope that, under the new manager, we go through a long period of unprecedented, unequivocal, success - without any poor runs of form or bad results - because I'm beggared if I know what he'd need to do for some of the posters on here to agree he's performed well.
Everyone points to Southampton. That one example that has led them to become the club that everyone outside the top few wants to be.
Nigel Pearson is not bigger than LCFC, but the team has been built by him and the players that represent us are in his own image (i.e. "Pearson type players" ). We might find another manager who can build on what we've got, but it will take time for the new guy to establish his own players, his style of play, his tactics whilst keeping the existing squad committed and motivated.
I'm sure it could work, but there is also massive risk. For me this is now the biggest decision the people who run our club have had to make since MON left. We know what happened them. I just hope that the owners have put themselves in this hugely risky position for good reason and that this time (unlike Sousa and Sven) they exercise their judgement wisely.
Sky Sports reporting that Pearson was told by telephone call with no prior warning.
While I still believe Nev is being equally hysterical with his constant accusations of bullying, he's got a valid point to make here:
Assuming that this is to do with the sacking of his son, and also assuming that the reports are correct that this has been a sacking rather than a resignation or mutual consent, then what has Nigel been doing to warrant this? After all, it doesn't fit with him making some principled resignation because he disagrees with the sacking of his son. Has he been in a strop all week, complaining about the board's decision and snapping back "so sack me then" when challenged? If so then what do you expect the owners to do?
The limited evidence I've seen so far suggests that he hasn't been able to move on from this incident and that the owners no longer see his influence as positive. That is then a question for Nigel to answer to himself. If he has been acting up (again Nev, not bullying; check your dictionary again) then he's made his own bed and will now have to lie in it.
If it's over his son then hardly anyone would support NP over this, I do wonder though if
A. The decision was made a while ago ( as some of us suggested it might ) and a suitable time gap after the euphoria has died down was given, the Thailand incident just enforcing this.
B. Dad won his battle with Top in a board meeting and NP had to go, again the Thailand incident enforcing this.
If either are correct they should have suitable candidates lined up, the longer the wait for a new man to come in ( and vital time lost ) then the more likely it was a snap decision from something that has happened more recently than the actual Thai incident, possibly over who is being recruited and who is making those decisions.
Ultimately it was the most exciting period before a new season many LCFC fans can remember with the real possibility of a top half finish, quality players coming to our unfashionable Club show how the Club has turned a corner and NP and the owners have everything to do with this, I hope this break up doesn't wreck the positive momentum we have.

Thinking about it though, what did JP actually get sacked for? He didn't take the video, he didn't send it and he didn't make any racist comments either!
He was just there, in a room with prozzies ordered by the hotel so yeah I could probably understand why NP would be peeeeed off about it.
The Thais have lost my support, they can get fooooked as far as I'm concerned!

One thing that will come out of this, Pearson WILL now go down as a club legend without any sort of failure on his record.
And all the Nev's and JG's and Stringers out there who are undoubtedly doing a little dance and singing their happy song this morning, won't be able to say Pearson wasn't a success because, despite whatever else he was off the pitch, he only did well for us.
So Cheers Nige and good luck. Some team somewhere is about to get themselves a bloody good manager.
