How much of the okazaki signing was down to pearson? I was a bit cynical of that transfer when it was announced and over thought the idea of it being a marketing move rather than for footballing reasons. then less than a week later he's gone.

Maybe the Thailand incident was deliberate?

Bit of a shock.
We had similar last summer at Palace (after an equally impressive 'great escape' ) and for sure it leaves the fans wondering wtf is going on...........ours was 2days before the new season though !

For what it's worth, i think you'll have have a far better overall season with a new manager. That said, there's not many better feelings than going on a ballistic run and securing safety !
Hope it works out

Onwards and upwards...Nigel who? lol

Interesting point made by RL was that Pearson hadn't commented on recent signings which is unusual?

Hi BS i have missed you. Timing wise its the first day of pre-season training so that gives the owners time to get someone in while the rest of the staff to get them fit.
One of the sad things for me the amount of Vitriol poured on the owners and calling the Thai's when people revert to type or the race card a bit different when they where supporting the fans as they have done on many occasions.
Nigel did really well to keep us up but it seems he has overstepped the mark one time to many for the owners.

Stay around if only to wind up Arro

Without being on the inside and knowing all of the facts it is very difficult to cast a vote either way for NP. However, as much as fans praise his record, he proved very naive in his first full season in the Prem. He also behaved unprofessionally on several occasions notably swearing at supporters and the manner with which he handled the press. After all, that was part of his job to deal with the media . He was labelled a bully by some and I suspect his arrogance became his downfall. Let's not forget that we spent most of the season stuck on the bottom of the table last year. So maybe the owners have got this one right. Surely it is better this has happened now rather than a big bust up a few weeks into the season.

As an outsider, Pearson creates mayhem.

Not doubting his achievements, but he's a potential embarrassment everytime he's in the public eye.

What disappoints me most is we have sacked a very good football manager for non football reasons.

A manager who had built a side full of players that were playing as much for him as for the club. Had finally found their feet in a system that was thoroughly entertaining to watch and was getting positive results.

In the close season we have already made a couple of very good signings in areas where everyone would agree we needed to strengthen. That includes the Okazaki who Walsh has said they have been tracking for a couple of seasons.

just very disappointed it has ended like this.

This is only going to end one of two ways either we become the new Southampton or we go the way of all the others like Cardiff.

The list of probably replacements is as underwhelming as it was when we thought Pearson had been sacked before.

I think we have seen enough from Pearson over the past year to suggest he has said something completely out of order to the owners. These are good businessmen and I think we can be pretty sure that the decision wasn't taken lightly.

I personally felt we had a reasonable chance next season building on the momentum of last - know I just don't know. But if I am honest, I would rather see a fresh start under a Klop, Laundrup or Di Matteo but wonder whether we really have that pulling power. Please no to Lenny, Allardyce, Dyche or dare I say it, O'Neill. We must take this (opportunity) to move forward, not backwards.

Lennon would be Allardyce but with a little more flair.

He's not as green as he is cabbage looking.

The worry for me is Neil Lennon is odds on favourite....Rudkin and Neville are big fans of his apparently and you would expect them to be advising the owners on the appointment.

Granted its a hell of a lot better a prospect than having Steve Cotterill but it's hardly inspiring. What a mess

All options except Hiddink and Klopp really worry me and if we chose any of them then the owners will definitely lose my support, I don't care what they've put into the club so far, screw this next appointment and it will all be for nothing and we'll be heading down again.

They've really got to pull somethinf massive out the bag to replace Pearson because quite frankly the options be mentioned are truly awful and a massive step backwards!

No to Laudrup and Di Matteo too, no effing thanks!

Arro you going to have to do a TB and let it go the owners havn't invested all thins money to watch it fall apart.
Lennon for me would have the same anger management issues as NP although i was privileged to watch a city match sate next to hom and his understanding of football and the match was truly exceptional.

Nigel blew it with one flare up to far the owners run the club not him and once you challenge the Chairman of any business there is only going to be one winner.

That's a conspiracy theory way too far. Why would your owners engineer what happened to their own club in their own country just to sack NP?

I'm surprised you don't rate Laudrup, arro. He did very well at Swansea, and I'm sure you'll say that, man for man, Leicester are as good as Swansea.

... the job description for the new Leicester City manager includes, in addition to an ability to survive despite an epic winless streak, a knack for escalating innocent collisions into furious throttling
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The throttling, strange as it was, was in jest and taken as such by the player involved - although it was also strange that NP should have pulled the player aside in the first place.

Klopp isn't going to be remotely interested in Leicester. He wants a top premier league club and was previously been linked with Man City and Liverpool.

Cambiasso has no management experience and represents a risk. Plenty of good players, captains and leaders on the pitch have not cut it at management, we don't want a risk at this pivotal stage.

The key aim now has to be to survive because this has been a total bolt out of the blue for the coaching staff and the players. A new manager with no ideas, new tactics and new player preferences is the last thing we needed after we finally found a formation and approach that worked.

Lennon will be odds on and I'm certain he will be given the job. Which will be a poor choice IMO

I'm sorry to see NP go. I think the Management have made a big mistake. I hope they don't live to regret it.
we need a manager that can get us above 14 place to be any good.

That's where you're wrong BS, he has clearly stated that he doesn't necessarily want a top 4 side, instead he wants a club that presents a challenge!

Actually, it was Cambiasso that was responsible for our change of formation and style of play, not Pearson's. They had a meetin before the West Ham game and Cambiasso lead it so I see no reason why he can't be manager!
