Top four..how difficult?

Utd, city will probably go on snapping up players on £200K pw and spking £50, £60, £70 on players left right and centre.

Rooney is our only play earning that much. None of our signings are anywhere close to earning that, and we've only spent £72m in total so far on four players.

Last season was the year to break the top 4 I fear.

Their spending just means the rest cannot compete

Liverpool spurs everton etc will just have to battle it out for Europa again

Benteke is a must.

A 1 in 2 goal ratio would easy be worth his release clause, however injuries I'd the only thing that worries me

With the new faces in the squad, top four will be very difficult. Further, some of last year's buys, esp Lovren, Sakho and even Lallana have yet to shine, if ever. Another -yet another - year where we could well be in transmission mode. Again.

Good luck signing Reus.

Nick I actually forgot about Di Maria, he's probably earning over 200k as well. Falcao and RVP as well but they've been let go of now.

Schweinsteiger is rumoured to be on £135k a week according to Bild. Darmian is supposed to be on 60k, Depay and Schneiderlin haven't been disclosed yet.

Jtr.....I hope lovren, sakho, lallana will settle after a good pre season. I think keeping injury free will be massive for us, however maybe the likes of ibe, firmino etc will hit the ground running and if we get of to a good start, well who knows.

It seems stoke seem to be catalyst for us, when we finished 2nd remember migs save on the first day? Then the last day last season was awful, well we have them again at the beginning....maybe if we win we can get 2nd again....maybe!

Good luck signing Reus.

He gave him as an example of a player we would need to get into top four. Doesn't take much for you to get excited does it?

Yeah ok. This is Got_Deluded we are talking about here, he's clearly suggesting Reus and Benteke, not players like them.

On reus. Tbf with the money in the prem right now I could see him at Liverpool actually, city and utd probably wouldnt need him and cfc have costa, if we could give playing time I can see hi signing for the money.

Its clear br got some signings wrong (most managers do btw), but I would expect borini, balotelli to leave. Dont forget we have lost Johnson, Coates, Gerrard, Sterling so if the other two leave thats 6 players that will have left. Maybe lucas and lambert will leave too, who knows.

There will be sales/loans. We have not made too many signings for the first team.

The current top 4 ain't changing any time soon. We are better than the rest and have more money than the rest.

I actually think Reus would be vaguely obtainable for Liverpool.

Reus is mainly a LWF. United have Depay for his position, Arsenal have Sanchez, Chelsea have Hazard.

Would fit in nicely at City though. Reus-Silva-Sterling behind Aguero. Reus does seem happy at Dortmund though.

We havnt a prayer of getting 4th. United now have too much quality.. They were our only chance of overtaking. If Sturridge gets injured i think we will struggle for 5th too.

Well reus has seen ozil, sanchez, sweinsteiger, di maria, falcao, firmino, suarez and aguero all join the prem and either do well or earn plenty of dosh. Maybe he thinks, yeah fk it I want some of that pie and if I do well then barca and madrid will sign me ala suarez, ronaldo, alonso etc.

posted on 13/7/15

He wouldn't need to go to the prem and play well for that to happen, Real could just sign him straight from Dortmund.

But even if Reus wanted to come to the Prem, Liverpool wouldn't be his first choice. You're living in cuckoo land if you think he would.

Darren....you mean like barca and madrid signed ronaldo from sporting, suarez from ajax and alonso from sociedad???

I think you get my point!

As for the top 4 staying as it is, I think there will be some instances where one of them will under perform and another smaller side will punch above their weight, but generally speaking, the current 4 of Chelsea, City, United and Arsenal will be the most regular teams that finish in those places.
