I agree that Ashley had the potential to make more money from the club than the current board does.

Having said that, the only way for Ashley to actually make money, on a regular basis, was to get the club on an even keel, wiping its feet and living within its own means, so that he could reap the benefits of the retail deal while not having to pump in millions of pounds in the from of loans just to keep the doors open.

So from that point of view, that was pretty much my basis for suggesting that Ashley may not be all that bad an option, as the business side of the club would most likely be put onto an even keel, and if that happened, our future and the ability to sustain ourselves without the need for sugar daddies and major investment was secured at the absolute least.

how can the club live within its means when he was loading us with debt via loans whilst he secured the assets against the loans?

he could control if we defaulted on them or not and bang he has everything

you just don't get it
