No, Fergie chose him and he needs to be given the years of his contract to prove himself, not 3 fecking games. We aren't Chelsea.
Why is it a big season?
As AF has said there is no pressure on Spurs or poch. We won't go bust or sack poch without champs league... Fifth/sixth with a tidy cup run or 2 is about all that is expected at the moment
Hate to say it but Brendan will be under huge pressure especially with our opening 10-15 games. Its do or die i feel especially as he's been backed and as far as I can see has landed most of his targets

They are mate, not just us anymore!
BR is under massive pressure I agree, and I think hes got his primary targets, if you look at the LFC team its pretty much a BR built team now.
He carries the can no hiding this year, we will definitely see if he is a fake or the real deal; I hope hes the real Deal, he has all the tools in place now. Strikers,very good midfielders and enough defenders.
Add in new backroom staff and I think we all expect a much much better season.
City and Chelsea will see out the title between them, Arsenal will make up that top 3, then United, Liverpool and Spurs fighting it out for the final champions league place.

Dont think City have stopped spending, and think they already have a strong enough squad to push Chelsea, who I see ultimately being champions again next season.
Arsenal look strong enough to cement their position within a top 3, and the three others I mentioned all have varying chances of making that final place in the top 4.
I think some United fans are a little guilty of prematurely believing they have gotten over what they might perceive as a blip, in regard to finishing 7th the season before last, and are on the rise again, and Liverpool will once again be gambling on a major influx of players gelling together to make a real push for top 4.

Mugged himself off, and doing much the same already this season. Best for him to just wait and see how the season starts over the first couple of months, before making outlandish statements.
I dont think predicting Liverpool to finish above Spurs at this time last year was outlandish. It was the most probable outcome at the time and you are now using hindsight which is a little unfair. When Liverpool finished second everyone predicted we would be somewhere like 8th. In fact Spurs fans had gone rabid on us, calling us has beens and laughing Liverpool fans off their board for suggesting we could finish above them. Perhaps everyone should just stop making these outlandish predictions and we can close down the site.
