I think you're underestimating berto. He isn't some no name bum,the lad can fight. Of course nobody is expecting anything special from him but he won't be there for the pay check,he will try and win. Floyd has no power so he has nothing to fear plus berto has decent power and speed of his own.

Maybe I am. I could be wrong (my memory isn't as flawless as some on here!) but Ortiz beat him at his own game and Guerrero pretty much controlled the points gap with him. Both fighter were comfortably beaten by Floyd.

Don't really know much about the loss to that Jesus fella but on paper it doesn't look good.

What would be your prediction then? How many rounds would you imagine Berto taking?

Oh and personally I don't particularly want to see Floyd beaten but I do want to see him at his best and that means him being tested to a greater extent than this IMO.

The fight was made as a favour by Floyd to Berto/Haymon. Give Berto a nice paydya Berto was lined up twice to fight Floyd. He lost both times agianst Guerrero and Ortiz and they got the payday instead of him.

wHen i saw that list of his last 10 fights i changed my mind about him. Just because he outclasses them in a less than electrifying way doesn't mean he is not very special. Not a fan of the events he is involved in but undeniable that he has fought all before him. He could stop most of these if he put his foot down.

Does anyone think Pacquaio will fight Khan next year?

Arum was talking about them fighting in Dubai a couple months back.

I think Khan would win that fight actually. Pac doesn't seem to have the power he once had, which will probably be reduced even further after this operation. If he can't test Khan's chin, I can see Khan taking a lopsided UD, due to his range & speed.

He's a living legend of the sport whether you like him or loathe him. He's been at this game for 19 years now and achieved so much. I think he's earned the right to hand-pick his final opponent.

Whoever he'd picked, someone would have complained about it and said he'd picked the wrong fighter anyway.

It's not his fault, but hopefully once he has retired, the rest of the division will stop with all the posturing and jostling for his attention and get on with the boxing. Could potentially be some massive fights over the next 2-3 years or so and titles changing hands frequently.

Ledders

Lets hope the young guys don't start avoiding each other. Floyd has changed the sport because now boxers want to fight the fights that make them the most money as opposed to the ones that will improve there legacy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

God I hope that's not true. If it is then boxing had a tough future ahead of it. It needs the big clashes, the rivalries to succeed as a sport. I find it kind of depressing that fighters won't be interested in going down in history, just a bigger bank balance.

From another point of view, Mayweather's legacy deserves to be his skill set rather than money. Whether it is or not is another matter and probably goes some way to explaining why people don't like him.

Its Al Haymon that is making these fights also. Thurman said before or after his last fight that he got given a list of 1 from Al Haymon on who he could face. 1 name on there! Collazo.

Haymon sees these welters as cashcows. Why risk losing a cashcow by pitting them against each other right now when he could pit them against lower level opponents and keep on taking his 15% advisory fee.

and the fighters dont moan because they get given a million or close to a million dollars each time they fight.

Khan should never have pulled out of the Alexander fight at the end of 2013.

He was lined-up to fight Floyd in May 2014, and losing to Devon would have scuppered that. So he pulled out. But after Maidana looked good against Broner, and joined Khan at the front of the queue, Khan didn't have an opportunity to respond in kind with an impressive victory (which he would have got vs Devon).

Khan desperation to fight Floyd inadvertently cost him that very goal.

The frustrating thing from a UK boxing perspective is that Khan actually deserves the fight.
