Be interesting to see who Mayweather fights next May, he'll be 49-0 after september and he'd have finished his 6 fight showtime deal, so the plan is obviously to have one more fight, get to 50-0 then retire, and because he's done with showtime he can promote and negotiate the whole thing, likely to the highest bidder out of showtime/hbo then just make even more money out of his last fight.

Could be vs Khan, not many other options left really, he might do Cotto but then again Cotto's likely gunna lose vs alvarez.

Him taking a 50th fight would mean a massive bidding war for what would be a money-spinning fight - regardless of who he fights because he could announce the date and venue before even announcing the opponent.

I hope he just sticks to 49 as I personally want to see the division get back to the actual boxing. Bradley, Thurman, Porter, Brook, Garcia and Mr Delicate Whiskers himself Amir Can't can serve up some top fights and it'll be fights they'll surely take if they know the belts are actually attainable.

He'd take that fight during Ramadam too if he had the chance. But if anyone else asks, he's busy

Is anyone surprised he's picking a bum for his last fight after taking the Pacquiao fight?

'You look at the junior middleweight and the welterweight division,' Mayweather said. 'The two divisions: one division I'm undisputed champion at... The other division I hold two titles at.
'There’s one man that stands all alone, Floyd Mayweather. So I looked at the division, I looked and said "who’s always in a tough, exciting fight, who has quick hands, who’s a boxer puncher, who always give it 100 per cent every time they go out". (It's) Andre Berto.'
Questioned over why he turned down Khan's advances to fight him, 'Money' said: 'Amir Khan has to get past Danny Garcia first. Once Amir Khan can get past Danny Garcia then the fight would’ve happened but that’s not my focus.'

Mayweather will definitely have one more fight after, you think someone as arrogant and a perfectionist like Mayweather will retire on 49-0 where he's only equaled Marciano's record and not beat it, and left himself on an odd number instead of an even number? No chance

Of course Mayweather will fight a 50th fight. That's guaranteed. I just hope he doesn't fight someone like Berto again for his 50th fight as it only waters down the achievement of beating Marciano's record.

And yet Berto who' s lost three of his last six fights is deemed worthy?? I don't follow the supposed logic.

'who’s always in a tough, exciting fight, who has quick hands, who’s a boxer puncher'

Is Floyd wumming Khan?

That's basically a description of him.

And Khan has to avenge his loss to Garcia but Berto doesn't have to beat Ortiz, Guerrero etc?

This is Floyd's last fight under his current TV deal.

Why not take on an easier fight....then once he is "retired", take on a couple of big fights, and he can call all the shots regarding money.

It's business.

He takes on Berto, but announces its his last fight. People will watch it.

If he has negotiated a better TV deal, with a much higher cut of money PPV brings in, why waste a massive fight under this TV deal and lose out on Millions?

It could well prove to be a shrewd business move, and there is no doubt Money drives him more than anything else.

Maybe but it's certainly not giving the fans what they want which is what Mayweather always claims he does.

Hopefully this fight absolutely tanks on ppv. It deserves nothing less.

Mayweather will say anything that puts Dollars in his pocket. That is all he cares about, which, in my opinion, is fair enough. Its not as if most of the 1st world don't think the same

Personally I'm not really bothered about Mayweather's love/obsession with money. It's his problem and you can't take it with you as they say.

I just want to see good and highly competitive boxing fights as a fan of the sport.
