"Coq is very good at intercepting and and tackling. But he is not good at starting moves."
===========================================
Also known as, not being good enough. We'll live to regret not upgrading on that position with Kondogbia just because Coquelin had a good 6 months.
No desire at all, at this club, to truly be the best and it mannifests itself in the exact same way every year. It's pitiful.

No he isn't! He has the engine to be one but he just isn't bothered to do so even when played centrally like today. Spent most of the time giving Giroud company exposing Coq in the process.

Giroud can obviously be improved on and a faster striker may well suit Ozil better seriously blaming it all on that is just madnesssometimes Ozil struggles to do the basics, gifts away possession, sloppy passes etc. and goes anonymous in so many games. Nothing to do with Giroud and all down to Ozil's inconsistency. I know that because the next game he'll be on it, sharp with crisp passing creating chances. And then the next game he'll be shocking again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most assists in europe from 2008-2013.
Ozil 73 - Messi 68 - Xavi 56 - Cesc 55 - Mata 54
So obviously the TYPE of striker he is playing with has something to do with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes signings just don't work though, he won't be the first great player to flop. ADM was poor last year so he got dropped and eventually sold, Ozil always plays and never gets subbed, if feels like blind faith just hoping he will come good which is a mistake imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets see if he continues to under perform with Benzma if he is indeed our main target.

Ramsey is a box to box player. I compared him to a young Gerrard when we first bought him and he is falling into a similar trap that Gerrard fell into when was developing. Its about understanding match situations and vacating space going forward so as to not to leave us open to counter attacks. It wasn't till Gerrard was paired with Alonso that Rafa got the best out of him by in fact moving him forward at times to play behind Torres. This is why I talk about players suiting each other.
This is why its so important to pair him with the right player. At the moment Coq is not a very good fit because he lacks the spatial awareness to set off quick counters. Its why Wenger still has Arteta in the squad!
Now that I have finished my Ramsey rant, Ozil's problem are not because of Giroud but this dreadful system we have that suits no one. He isnt a player that is meant to receive balls and hold it blind alleys against 6foot defenders because we have hit it long to him when we have dropped off as deep as we do nowadays. He loves to receive the ball with ready runners and plenty of support around him which is something that doesnt happen. I absolutely despise our counter attacking style tbh. It is boring to say the least and suits no one!
I don't even think it is a lack of understanding of match situations really but a poor attitude of selfishness really although you make a good point
He just lacks team ethic completely. He doesn't use his engine anymore because he isn't bothered at all, same as during 2011 he just lacked tactical discipline completely. I don't trust him at all to play in midfield pivot no matter who he is playing with.

Its all one in the same. Ramsey came into prominence when he started scoring a lot of goals a couple of years ago. Goals elevate your fame. And when you are a box-to-box player like Gerrard, like Lampard its only too tempting to disregard the rest of your game in order to concentrate totally on scoring goals. He is only going to learn from experience. After all he has reduced his holIywood passing a lot. I am not ready to write him off. He can mature into a great player when he learns a bit of tactical nous.

I disagree completely. You only have to look at the last two games of last season. In fact we even looked good last week against Chelsea. We are talking about West Ham at home! They just lost to some unknown team in Europe. We should have won easily today. And we resembled the team that was awful last year without Theo. And putting Theo on the wing when we are already 2-0 down and West Ham doesn't count. Really I dunno if Wenger was trying to prove to ppl that we didn't need Benzema. That really went well.
Agreed. I remember during his rosy spell being a bit disappointed because he was scoring as much because that is all people would focus on and forget how great his overall game was. He was so complete that season, covered ground, made interceptions, made tackles etc in fact he led the league in every stat before becoming injured. What I didn't know was that even he would forget all the other aspects of his game that made him so brilliant and just focus on the goals. So infuriating really and I would bench him to buck up his ideas if he isnt listening to the manager. He needs to grow up and tame his HUGE ego.
You completely misunderstood me it seems. We need to press higher up tje pitch and increase the tempo of our attacking play, our tactics require we master transitions but we just suck at that really against any decent defence. We look like Klopp's team when they found his team out last year.
Ozil 73 - Messi 68 - Xavi 56 - Cesc 55 - Mata 54
____
how many of those Ozil assist were to Ronaldo???
is it possible to find that out
We should have won easily today. And we resembled the team that was awful last year without Theo.

We choked today Wenger called it pressure, expect the team to challenge Chelsea for title talk has gotten to some players.

That actually comes out in the wash. Look at the next people on the list. How many of Messi's or Xavi assists were because of the great Barca team or how many of Cesc's assists were because Messi and RVP etc.
You have to look at the number of goals scored by Higuain and Benzema. And a lot of their super records at Madrid were down to Ozil's creation.
The truth is we haven't played with fluidity since RVP. And that should tell you something. And the two games where we scored 4 against WBA and Villa (very similar teams to West Ham) and I would say under greater pressure against VIlla, we played with Theo up front who provided some movement and pace.

Think Wenger was talking balls to defend his team selection which was terrible and aimed at sending a message to all those who want Benzema. And it backfired spectacularly.
At the time plenty agreed with 8bit tbf
