Fazio is good in the air, no pace what so ever though.

wouldnt say no chance.
we have 5 which is a number I like... but we could survive with 4...
problem is that wimmer is completely unknown and unproven (and young), so if he isn't ready then we only have 3

I don't know about that - we have
Dier
Wimmer
Verts
Toby
Plus decent youth coming through. We don't really need five CBs!
Pace isn't everything. We've gone year after year with a decent defence based on tall, physical centre backs allied to good organisation. Fazio's no slower than what we've got/had. £6 million seems a bit steep though.

Not at all when we paid £8 million just one year ago.
Fazio is an absolute donkey. He's good in the air when the ball is aimed at his head, but he is terrible if he needs to judge the flight of it or win a header against an opposing player. £6m will do nicely....
cox pace does matter when our only defender with it (Gamboa) isn't fancied, it will always leave us exposed.
Whilst I rate quality first we are crying out for a decent fast defender otherwise we're left vulnerable for any counter attack, especially with a ball over the top.
He's really not that bad, I quite like him. Really good in the air and underrated on the ball and on the ground. Personally I'd keep him at Spurs but he'd be a very good signing for a Pulis side.
As Pulis Power infers, we need pace, not plodders.
Why do we need pace.?
We kept the 3rd most clean sheets in the league last season with the slowest defence in the league.

he's 6ft 5". Thats all you need to know.
JH it has been our biggest problem defensively for multiple seasons and as stated above a simple ball over the top or through our defence and we're completely exposed.
It doesn't have to be a cb, it could be a full back we just desperately need inequality fairly quick player to cover.
It would mean we can push up the pitch a bit more, I'd rather have a defence that is perfectly balanced both technically, on the deck, in the air and physically.
Sterling tore us a new one on the counter and every team now has a player capable of just leaving a defence in his dust so a quicker defence/defender is starting to become a major aspect.
Well put it this way I think if you get Fazio then it will be used as a sweetner to get the Berahino price down a little. No way will fazio go to you without us getting a deal on Berahino. We have enough centre backs so fazio going will not weaken us. 4 centre backs plus a very highly rated young defender in Vickers Incase all 3 centre backs are injured which is highly unlikely

You won't be getting Berahino, so you can keep your excess CB.

Not sure you can be so confident when you have splashed out 15 mil on rondon. Pretty obvious he was bought in just incase Berahino goes. It might even be city that gets him so not just us but Berahino won't be a Westbrom player by the end of the window I don't think
Don. I doubt very much, given that we have just put Ideye and Vic Anichebe up for sale, that Saido will be going anywhere.
I know Pulis is defensive minded but having just one striker would be stretching it a bit.

You have bought Lambert and Rondon. Possibility you might be another striker if as expected Berahino goes but you can't sit there and say Rondon weren't bought as a potential replacment for Berahino. It's pretty obvious this is the case. Your manager is even coming out saying he can't stop Berahino going but " for now" he's a Westbrom player. It's pretty clear he will go and it will probably be city as I don't think we will offer the amount you want
Our manager is coming out saying kane is " commited to the club and going nowhere" where as your manager is coming out saying " we can't stop if a big bid comes in" and " in football anything can happen" .... Big difference between the 2 scenarios there mate and it just tells me the inevitable is happening with Berahino
