Stopping Sky's monopoly of football was supposed to help fans with an increase in quality with competition when all its done is give football clubs more money and made the fans poorer.

I'd seriously advice people instal Kodi, it's been a revelation, 1080 streams of every game so far, so good.

Breaking a monopoly does inevitably cause a period of imbalance... however, in time I'm sure it will out better for the consumer. As it was previously, Sky had complete control of 90% of PL/CL/FAC/COC which meant that, if they desired, they could just ratchet the prices up as and when they wanted to with minimal negative repurcussion

As long as it's profitable to both then it will keep being negative for the consumer, more so as it will be less content for equivalently more cost.

I can't see it changing any time soon.

Surely, considering that BT offer a cheaper service and are drawing customers away from Sky, Sky will respond with price cuts? These price cuts could fund your BT bolt-on to your Sky package surely?

I'm a BT customer with access to a Sky Go account so I'm happy on all fronts...

I've never heard of Kodi, how does it work?

I'm not sure about that, the channels primary aim is to battle each other and get the football in the first place which costs them billions. That money then has to be made from the fans.

The fans are the last people to be worried about in modern day football.

Google it, there was a post about it here a couple weeks ago with all the info. Takes a few minutes to set up but really isn't that hard if you follow the step by steps and fully worth it.

I wonder if the same people who complain about the cost of sky sports, are the same people who brag about how much money we have, and how they're happy to leave ddg on the bench and lose 20 mill to send a message.

The money has to come from somewhere, and the fans will pay one way or another. Footballers get paid way too much, sky had to pay something like 7 mill per premier league game.

I always found that what works best to defeat a fire-breathing dragon is to climb up its back and stab it in the eyes with a crossbow

The money in the PL now is disgusting. My friend was telling me he's getting a S/T at West Ham next season for £195, then another friend told me the reason it's so cheap is because the tax payer have basically been made to pay for West Ham moving into the Olympic stadium so they can afford to offer such cheap S/T even though they already get millions from TV deals and other sponsorships. It's a f-cking joke.

posted on 18/8/15

Yeah, the West Ham deal is murky to say the least

posted on 18/8/15

He also said if he can get 2 new friends to join and get a S/T each he can get them for £100 each! Why the f-ck are the government using taxpayers money to help a PL club!

Could anybody elaborate on this?

i.e - does it work on PC, cost etc

It's totally free and I'm pretty sure works on PCs. I have a Mac so Acestreams don't work so Kodi is perfect.

This site tells you everything.

https://seo-michael.co.uk/how-to-watch-premier-league-football-using-xbmc/

Basically you download the program which is easy then you have to add channels. Each channel will have a whole host of channels and options but you basically just want the live sports channels. Since I've been using it I've had to play around a bit to get used to it and see what live sports channels they all offer but so far any with NBCSN links are usually perfect and offered in both 720p and 1080p. The pre match and half time analysis are pretty dry but the actual commentary is fine as they use English commentators that Sky and ITV use.

Might seem confusing when you're following the step by step guides but after a little while it's easy and really worth it.

Sky may have less games due to losing the CL, but the price they paid for those games was a lot higher than before. There is no way they will lower their prices.

Kodi works on tablets, mobiles and PCs. I have it installed on all of mine and it is excellent.

I'll give it a go mate, cheers.

Any recommendations as to which channels to add?
