Benzema is not Suarez; another Ozil.

We signed Cazorla,
We signed Ozil,
We signed Alexis Sanchez,
We signed Cech.
We can sign Benzema.
We sign who we want. We are #Arsenal!

I don't rate him either...but no one is available. Cavani is equally bad.

Whom should we sign? Theo can't play upfront...proven.

Yeah I don't see Benzema happening... he's Real's only striker atm it doesn't make sense, could just be a smokescreen

Would you be happy if we sign Ibra or get him on loan for a year?

posted on 21/8/15

He's hit 30 goals twice in his career and always gets into the 20s. Walcott is shocking up front. There are other players I'd prefer us to sign but he's the only one were linked with I'd have.

He's crap? Bats is as clueless as you can get

While I can’t see Benzema signing, TW is not a long term option for the CF position.

This is a guy at 26 who was recently speaking in regard to learning how to hold the ball up, and bringing others into the game. A basic skill for a CF.

He is not world-beater but he is not crap either..somewhere in the middle...he would suit teams like Utd, Lpool who floating there and thereabout for top4 security...we need to challenge for the title.

Talking about Benzema above.

posted on 21/8/15

He's a good player, but I just don't see the value in paying >£40m on him.

posted on 21/8/15

He is;
A lot better than Giroud
Not worth £40+
Definitely not coming anyway
If we fail to sign a CF then Walcott deserves a chance up front purely because Giroud has already proved beyond doubt he's not good enough and Walcott hasn't (yet).

And how do you expect him to learn that on the wing? Any player changing position is going to take time to adapt.

And this is the point ppl fail to understand. We cannot expect Theo to be the solution straight away. However we know that Giroud is not going to carry this team. He has had 3 years to do something and hasn't. In fact he is not contributed greatly to any of the FA Cup triumphs either!

We need to replace Giroud with a proven striker abt Benzema's age and then use Theo in and out till he is ready to take the job full time.

Suggesting Theo is the answer straight away is like saying Giroud deserves to be the first choice. Because I promise Wenger just isn't going to play Theo consistently up front at this moment in time!

Walcott already has a job to do out on the wing. Who are we replacing him with?

The point is that a player playing professionally for a decade should already possess the fundamental skills to fulfil their position.

By TW’s own admission he can’t hold the ball up effectively. It’s not really an area of the field Arsenal can experiment with and expect to challenge for the league.

I've said from the beginning, I always doubted that benzema would leave Madrid. Not unless Madrid have a big name signing lined up. Their fans won't accept seeing him leave, without a top class replacement. Only way I could see if happening was if they were financing a move for Aguero or something. Unless we bid a stupid amount, Madrid won't sell him. I would be very surprised if it happened without Madrid bringing another striker in.

I also don't think he's worth 45/50m. I think he definitely would improve us, but I don't think he's sort of player that will automatically turn you into a title favourite. Like when Man U signed RVP. 40/50m might be better spent elsewhere through out the team. I wouldn't kick up a fuss if we did pay a big fee, but I don't think he'll transform our team.

I won't be surprised if we sign someone on deadline day. But it might not be a striker. I can see Wenger thinking he'll wait until January to get a forward, and see how it goes. Because he'll think we usually score a lot of goals with the players we have. If ox Ramsey and ozil can add more goals, then that will make up for the lack of striker, in theory.

Aaron Ramsey.

And who are we replacing Ramsey with?
Becomes a bit of a merry-go-round if you insist on square pegs in round holes everywhere.

And he does on the wing. Theo did not sign his new contract demanding that he be played up front. Walcott was accumulating the same type of statistics as Bale before his injury on the wing. Wenger is dangling Theo as striker to the fans so that he once again protect Giroud. When has Wenger even given Theo a consistent run up front to see if he can adapt his game?

Wenger has pretended to replace Giroud for 3 years in a row. At the end of the first year we were linked to Huntelaar. The second year Higuain and Suarez. And now Benzema. With Welbeck as an emergency signing in between.

But every year its half hearted attempt to placate fans but still protect his favourite. Its like captain of the titanic who sees the iceberg coming but pretends his ship is strong enough.

So you honestly believe AW is purposely sabotaging/incapacitating AFC to pacify a few fans?

Ramsey is the new right winger, get used to it

I prefer to call it the "Dirk Kuyt" position. Makes it easier to live with.

No. Did the captain honestly think he was kill his passengers and himself? Its delusion.
