I don't really understand why it has taken this long to sign him, surely Monaco would have accepted this ridiculously high offer two months ago and he could have settled in?
I haven't seen enough on the lad to comment on his ability, but he is obviously wildly overpriced based on what he has done in the game. Such is life with young players he could turn out to be a bargain if he's dynamite for the next ten years.
Then again he might be barely better than Ngog and Sanogo.
I don't think he is a panic buy in the normal sense as I believe Utd have scouted him and wanted him for a while.
The way they have signed him shows a degree of bad decision making, or panicking, though.

According to the journalists who were reporting the news, Monaco being eliminated at the qualifying stages of the CL is what pushed the deal through, otherwise he would have stayed at Monaco for one more year.
Read that yesterday somewhere and I can't really be bothered to looks for the source tbh.

Might have been Monaco wanting to keep him while in the CL? Maybe LVG wanted to give the likes of Januzaj and Hernandez one more go before buying again? It does seem a bit strange to sign him now if there wasn't a reason to do so earlier.
