Panic buy bah!
United have the New Henry, the new Ronaldo add that with The White Pele and The new Barasi they already had they will pizz the league this season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's fckkkkking right you know!!
We're gonna win the lot!
Who's moaning?
When will you be changing your name to Martial's Left Foot?
If paying over the odds for a player is a panic buy then City must be a fecking nervous wreck
Boris will you be watching Martial Law tonight.
United Sign Martian.
Fekin 'ell, you'll do anything to attract new fans.

you always bring it up to have a dig at our board, we didn't get you banned. Excessive wumming did, and Martial isn't left footed.

No, I'll be watching a bit of MMF, BBW, BDSM based pawn if I have my way.
Give me a BBW any time of the day, not too excessive though.
Much better than a scrawny piece that looks like they need a good Sunday dinner down them.
Heard pat nevin on the radio last night going on about how good martial is

City sign players that we've heard of!
Scott Sinclair was a panic buy - Yet again, we had just been stiched up at the last minute by UEFA.
It looks like a panic buy because it's happened on the last day of the transfer window, and its a player no one mentioned before. Club says otherwise but they would wouldn't they. So after spending all summer with supporters waa nnking on about the likes of Pedro, Otamendi, even Bale, you get Martial. Well you can see it looks a bit odd.
Also I hate it when players are described as the new Thierry Henry or the new anything. 39m is a lot for a French teenager. Be interesting to see how he adapts.

Panic buy would suggest you're making a last ditch bid on someone with a bit of pedigree, sort of like our loan deal for Falcao last year, this is huge gamble though, if only for the fee involved
This kid will be a total disaster of a signing. He will make ADM look like a success.

We will know in 2/3 seasons how this signing worked.

Exactly - in all honesty apart from the Arsenal tie this year most of us have never seen him. And tbh Arsenal were so carp in those games - first particularly - that anyone would look like the new Theirry Henry.

I don't really understand why it has taken this long to sign him, surely Monaco would have accepted this ridiculously high offer two months ago and he could have settled in?
________________
Pretty obvious he wasn't our first choice target but he was on the list.
Andy Carroll was apparently already a target for us for the summer, but we rushed it through for £35m on transfer deadline day, and of course that was deemed a panic buy. Very similar situation to Martial.
not really, Martial has shown some semblance of ability
The quality of the players is irrelevant. The situations are very similar.
Was Carroll deemed a panic buy?
It seemed the likely thing to do after losing Torres. It was the fee that was ridiculous (as is the case with this Martial signing).
