Torres a mercanary?
Mercenary's dont stay at their home town club for 7 years despite never getting into europe then take a pay CUT to move to the north west.
Reject City's offer to make him the higest paid player in english football THEN stay at a poor club that cannot match his ambitions.
Downing's the true mercenary, trading one europa challenging club for another for more money

I would tend to agree and I'm not completely writing him off but 1 goal in 20 games?
Does not look right to me. That may be due to systems, what ever, but since he has had a kid he has not really performed.
Until he does I really don't think we'll be too bothered that we have Suarez and Carroll instead do you?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tough to know where to stand on Torres. I think rafa forcing him to play through injury when the wheels were just starting to come off at Liverpool and the WC in combination did not help but in the end didn't do any permanent harm - not to a permanelty damaged level.
Of Torres 20 matches how many have been full 90 mins? Very few and I think this is part of the problem noit just for him but for the team getting used to a different striker. Early signs were there in pre season but I am running out of patience.
Saurez for your lot is a quality signing but I think deep down not even the most ardent Liverpool fan really rates Carroll. I never once saw an article clamouring for him prior to his signing as Torres replacement.
FILTERED!! = I cant answer your questions anymore about our sub standard team
Out of interest the scousers you brought him for us excuse for Carroll has to be the worst excuse i have ever seen.
They sold a proven world class forward and replaced him with a championship Heskey, how any one can make an excuse for that quite frankly amazes me.
But we've all seen Torres can do better. How do you know Carroll can. Look at Michael Ricketts
Mr Chelsea too true
Torres is better than Carroll and saurez ,whatever his name is
OGBG (U9035)
To be fair we let him finish the season early so he could make the WC.
He had played for about 5 years non-stop and I think that's hurt him. He has aso played since he was 17 which I don't think does any player any good (Owen, Fowler for example).
You also hear rumours of the other Chelsea players not liking him or passing to him which is wierd.
I'm sure he'll score goals but when? It's starting to become a bit of a monkey on his back.
RE: Carroll. True. I can see why we signed him though and I do think he has goals in him. Just like Peter Crouch though. The jury is still out but he certainly has the attributes to be a success and he is young. I think he'll be a 1 in 3 man - never World class but an interesting and almost unqiue option.
A player is worth what some other club will pay for him so going by that Torres was worth £50 million and Carroll was worth £35 million. Personally speaking i would at the time Torres £25 million and Carroll £5 million.
You'll be lucky to see him become a 1 in 3 man imo. On his day he can trouble any defense but he doesn't do it often enough.

Good point about the early start, it certainly seems to have worked well in reverse for the likes of Drogba in being a "late bloomer"
I have heard the same rumours about players not passing to him (Malouda) but don't take much stock in them. That type of thing would get pretty short shrift on the training pitch by any manager.
I can only hope you are right about the scoring/monkey on the back.....
But the 16 in 44 is on the stretch. Falcao had 73 goals in 84 for Porto and went for the same price as Carroll.

Could you tell me, honestly, why the price would be of any issue to any LFC fan. When you signed SWP for 20m+ were you bothered? What about Shevchenko? Zhirkov? The various other expensive failures?
We needed a striker, it was the end of Jan and the owners wanted to make us feel better. The did that. He cost what he cost.
I'll say it again. At the end of the day he has outscored Torres since signing. Do you really think we're bothered about us having Suarez and Carroll instead of Torres at the moment? Cos we're not.
Oh really? Then why do you still obsess over Torres. This article is proof. We would not mock you at all over Carroll, if you just forget about Torres. But you're incapable.

That was clever.
This article started with a lie about Torres posted on the Chelsea board. Then you cry when we bring up Carroll.
Mr Tola (U9044)
No-ones crying and neither myself or BBRM wrote the article.
Perhaps this lack of objectivity is why your posts are so rubbish? Just a thought.
No, I'm aware you didn't but a Liverpool fan did. So you cop it too. Just like' this year is out year'
hold on i dont understand.
this year is our year as in your year or our year as in our year?
