So far LVG has done a good job. The football isn't great to watch, but he has done a decent job at getting the squad back in some kind of shape and I think that he will leave us in a good state when he retires. Hopefully we will win a title either this year or next year. If he manages that then he will have done a good job.

Klopp I think will be a good match for Liverpool. I do have question marks over whether he could handle the pressure of a top job like United, but I do like him as a manager.

I am a huge fan of Klopp but think the task he has taken will break him.

When you say LvG is a reserved manager who does not take risks, I question whether you know anything about the man whatsoever.

Klopp represents a gamble IMO, after the stability of Fergie and farce of Moyes you needed an experienced pair of hands. I’m not a fan of VG but Klopp at United having only managed in Germany would be a risk.

We'll see hwat Klopp is made of at Liverpool, good move for both IMO.

klopp is good manager Adam.. Don't think you will see the best out of him this season. Come next season after a few signings (players will want to play for him) think next season you will be a force. This season I think 4/5 will a very good finish for u which could be possible

Why would you drop lvg hes doing alright isnt he?granted the football isnt great despite controlling possession a lot of the time but hes grinding out results and apparently mentoring giggs as it seems he knows hes there as a short term fix.

I think he will maintain top 4 and depending on how other teams do could have a shot at the title come the end of this season too. Again though I thought giggs was the long term plan.

manutddaredevil don't you think side pass side pass side pass and then a back pass is being reserved.. His ideal playing style in premiership would be like arsenal free flowing fast passing movement with a end product. In such a few games we looked lost at times against Swansea, Newcastle, Wolfsburg and arsenal.. Look at his away record form. for a club who should be challenging for the title its rubbish

Attracting the top players to Liverpool is still an issue that won't change under klopp. He needs to get them into the CL which is unlikely this season even though its early days. I would imagine his remit is to have them back in the CL in next 3 seasons which is a tough ask

#Inbefore do we really want giggs as the next manager.. Sounds like a perfect story a club legend to take over and be a successful manager at the club he loves for the next X amount of years.. Not going to happen.. He's not ready for such a big club yet unless where willing to be a top 6 - 7 club for a few years till he finds he feet.

If this really is the end of him then it's a sad indictment of his overall quality that it's happened when players should be at their peak these days.
--------------------------

I think that Rooney is a different case to most footballers. He had a man's body at a young age and played lots of top level from 16 years old. The way he plays the game was always going to put a strain on his body over the years and I just think that he has peaked physically several years earlier than most footballers do.

I do still believe that he has it in him to rediscover some good form. However, I doubt we will ever see him playing at the highest levels he has achieved again .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know whether he's been skimping on the training sessions or not, but if he worked a little harder on getting better, you'd see him improve fairly quickly, even if he now might not be able to reach the previous highs he reached with his performance levels.
----------------------------

You simply can't say that with any certainty. There are lots of examples of players that have walked straight into top jobs and done well, just as their are examples of those that have done poorly. It all comes down to the individual.

If I was a 'Pool fan, I would be ecstatic with Klopp as a manager. I think he is the best manager available on the market and the kind of personality that Liverpool FC needs.

I have heard the "pundits" say that Liverpool should go for Ancelloti, but I don't think he is right fit for them. He is a manager who takes over a team with good players and makes them play to their potential.

They need a manager who can make their players pull above their weight and make them a regular champions league team. IMO, there is no better manager than Klopp to do that. His synchronized orchestra needs a mix of young and talented players, and Liverpool have some of them in their ranks.

I don't expect an immediate turnaround, his style of football will require some time to implement, though I have no doubt that he'll get there. Also, the club and the fans expectation should not be winning the title at this stage, but making themselves a regular fixture in the CL for the next 2-3 years.

We do not play that way so not sure what you are talking about. His away record for based on 1 and a bit seasons? After the upheaval we have been through?

Did you see Klopps last season at Dortmund?

With news that LFC should complete the deal for Klopp by Friday was wondering would you sack LVG right now and hire Klopp

....................

No.

Or some of his seasons with Mainz.

Our friend Robb will be very quick to point out that he managed to get them relegated.

Klopp from what I hear wasn't interested in managing a club the size of utd so why would the club be interested in him. Dosent make him a bad manager but a manager not suitable for the club.

I saw that they had a hell of alot of injuries to key players, especially in the first half of the season

He himself said he wanted a project and not a club at the top with immediate pressure to deliver

Think he might be under a fair bit of pressure if he doesn't hit the ground running

manutddaredevil what upheaval had we really had.. We had david moyes in charge for less then full season.. We had a title winning team season before.. LVG has got rid of so many players and refused to buy a CB, RB & LB.. Were short on top yet he sells RVP & Chico... Against arsenal who did we really have on the bench who could of changed the game.. No1.. and if we did he probably play them in a total different position which is mad..!

Klopp does not have the mentality to manage a huge club who demand success now. He even said so himself in other words! He did not want to manage a club expecting titles straight away.

“I’m really very relaxed – but only because I know that is how it goes sometime. I’ll be back to train a team. It must be somewhere in the world that is not an absolute top club, there are other good projects that are exciting who need help.” Klopp said at the International Radio Exhibition (IFA) in Berlin.

He was never going to manage the likes of Real, Barca, Bayern or Utd.

That doesnt really mean much, none of them jobs are available atm anyway..

Liverpool are being clever here and getting Klopp before I imagine Chelsea strike. Jose is a dead man walking and they're running out of top coaches they haven't sacked already.
