Ireland scraped past Georgia in their 2 games, McGeady scored with the last kick over there.
we seemed to get worse as the group went on, our performances v Germany away, Poland away and Ireland at home were promising
who could of foreseen Ireland taking 4 points off Germany, thats just our luck.
Lucks always involved in football, when youre as poor as we are we need luck to go through and we never get it.
But when you start relying on luck then youre peeing into the wind.
Its disappointing but NOW its the time to build for the future, we need to get rid of the likes of Hutton, Fletcher, Maloney (not because hes poor but we need to think long term) centre half is a route we'll need to go down the scottish grandparents system for, goalkeeper we'll be fine for the next 10 years or so, Robertson and Tierney left back, Paterson on the right, Browns time will come to an end soon aswell Armstrong can make the set up
Henderson will come through, Ryan Fraser, Sam Nicholson, Jamie Walker, Jason Cummings, Lewis MacLeod, Shinnie, Ryan Gauld, Scott Fraser.
Most people expected Germany to hoover up all the points in the group and they didnt. Strange state of affairs.
Our group was horrendous when compared to others, same old story sadly..
Agree with NNH get some fresh young players in sharpish and let them gel
btw
i'd still fancy us any day of the week to beat both the Irish teams.
Nothern Irelands group was a farce
I said on another thread Ghod, fine margins. Scotland don't concede a freak goal in the last second last night and Ireland don't beat Germany then everyone would have been raving about Scotland this morning and full of optimism for the play offs. Instead, people want Strachan gone etc
ghod agree with all of that.

I really cant think who we'd get
maybe go back for Big Eck, Walter Smith?
Lambert seems maybe the most viable but hes still young?
Could be worse though ... one of my mates is going across for the Gibraltar game. FFS that's going to be one surreal atmosphere
Flook that, he must be considering faking a death and not going
Ritchie's goal was a get out your seat ooooooft moment
dont see thepoint in getting rid of Strachan tbh
Someone who isn't scared to throw in some youngsters.
Would John Hughes be such a bad appointment? He gets his club from the youth up playing decent stuff and he always seems to bring through 2 or 3 young players at each team.
For what it's worth I do believe Strachan will and should stay for the World Cup.

i'd give him another crack.
like I have said, look at England, northern Ireland and wales groups compared to ours.
we had a hard group ffs
I would even say Ryan Christie, Ryan Gauld need to be called up

btw NNH Yogi is a great shout
btw im not calling for WGS head i think he'll walk but
its alright saying breed youngsters but they are too young just now.
is gauld even in lisbons first team? taking out an experienced international and throwing in boys isn't the answer, not in bulk at least.
bleed them in.
first game of WC qualifying
Gordon
Paterson
Martin
Hanley
Robertson
Brown
McArthur
Naismith
Armstrong
Anya
McCormack
The problem I have and always will have with Strachan is he thinks he's so much smarter and better than the fans of the team he's in charge off.
Everyone can see Hutton and Whittaker are dire, everyone knows Hanley looks absolutely woeful with the ball at his feet and everyone knows we should be bringing in more young players.
Strachan is too stubborn to see things and sticks to players who have one good game in 10.
dont know what squad he is in, but doing well from what I have heard, would add a bit of flair if anything, something we lack
