But if anyone should know it will be a 4th place trophy expert gooner
Lucky to stay out the bottom four ffs
5 stars for effort
And to answer your question - if we don't win 5 out of the next 6 matches then we have zero chance of getting 4th place.
Everyone keeps on saying that if we put together a run of form then it's not out of reach. The reality is that we're running out of games for that run of form to happen. We can't keep going on as we are and saying "Oh, well 4th place is only 9 points away".
We need points on the table and fast.
Personally, I think 4th place is long gone but I will admit that there's still a little part of me that hopes all is not lost just yet.

I agree, i never buy into the points gap argument that many people make, for me it is about how many points. Hence the article to make it clear that in order to finish 4th we will have to hit title winning from from now....which of course we look a million miles away from.
For some reason I relate this clip to our season so far.

Mathematically possible, realistically impossible
You're old? I swear I thought your diapers were still wet
I dont think so , but I live in hope
I think you guys should target winning the Europa league. It feels much more realistic than hoping to get the top 4 spot
Hmmm
We cant buy a goal at the moment and i dont buy the excuse that it'll all click soon and some team will get a thrashing. There's a reason why our football in the last 2/3rds of the pitch is so poor. Its because Jose since his return has focued on defensive solidity and organisation, its made our attacking abilities totally blunt.
There are so many things wrong with the way we attack and that is why when we do seem to have a good game, we never really score many goals.
When we attack, either we're attacking with far too few players or the players are miles apart from each other or the passing is so slow that it totally ruins the attack up by giving the opp time to reorganise. I dont believe this is just because of bad luck. The players actually have no idea what to do. You have to put some blame on Jose for this. Some blame on the players and blame on the club for not getting some of the targets Jose wanted
There comes a time when you have to say. Ok fair enough we didnt get the players we wanted in the summer but is this squad we have a squad that is befitting of the 16th place we're currently in? Something has to give.
There's seasons where you write off where you can see where the team is going. You can see what the manager is trying to do so you allow him the season to try and sort it but with this team right now, its pretty much in a bad bad place. Horrible football being played for the most part. Cannot score and cannot keep clean sheets at the back. You write seasons off where you can clearly see there will be progress next season. What are we actually doing this season that makes people think it will click next year?
I'm not sure what the answers are to your current woes.
But it's bloody funny to watch.
You're starting to sound like we did under Moyes. In denial. 13 pts behind already. Cant see it happening now. Plenty of defeats left yet too.
However you should stick with Jose. If anyone can bounce back, its him.

Agree with all of this.
Our highest scoring game last season came against Swansea where literally every goal was scored in a transitional play after we pressed them into a mistake. We can't rely on transitional attacking when most teams we play will sit back. Unfortunately, that's the only type of attacking style Jose has implemented throughout his career. We just don't have the players for it the moment and I'm not sure I can stomach a clear out of players to supplement a strategy that may not even work out in the long term.
A lot of questions need to be asked about where we think this team is going under Mourinho.
I don't fully subscribe to Mr C because of that reason, but the evidence so far points in that direction
Biggish if Jose gets some new players. Where is he gna take the team in the long term? Footballing wise I just dont like it when we play defensive against the bigger teams. Yes its ok in the CL, there's much more at stake there and playing away from home on foreign soil with UEFA referees, you need to minimise as much risk as possible but when he does it in the PL, it stinks. We have the squad I believe to obliterate teams if they're let off the shackles. It does need some additions but the way the team is now, you'd think we need a whole new 25 man squad which just isnt the case.
we got tippitty tapetty players for the wrong manager .
and we buy brutes for the tippity tapetty managers
Yeah which is why it doesnt really make sense why Jose was brought back unless the club need him whilst they're building the stadium
i told u i never wanted him back
