Tbh some of the criticism was a bit much, considering the nature of SW. Lots of people were just furious that Leia was in it and thought it undermined the OT and couldn't really see any viewpoint that was contrary to that.

Some stuff is perfectly valid and makes so little sense that I can't look past, but it does seem like some people like to go out of their way to be angry at SW.

I enjoyed it for the most part and don't care much that some things didn't make sense.

I've seen a few edits of particular scenes and it is truly baffling how fans can make the actual studios look like amateurs.

I found myself being very picky but it was only because there were other aspects that were not very good.

Yeah honestly I was really picky at the beginning too, but once I realised where the bar was I was able to relax and just enjoy it for the good bits in it and I feel like I got more from it as a result

That's perfectly rational but it's important not to confuse that with the show actually being good, objectively.

Someone has done a good edit of obi-wan. Reducing it to a two hour movie and reducing all the fluff, putting in duel of fates etc:

I posted an edit of the final battle between Vader and Obi Wan, with Duel of fates and Battle Of Heroes mixed in.

Just adding the music improves the fight and scene signficantly. How Disney were not able to see this, is bemusing.

We need answers Guv.
All I’ve heard was Karth Kennedy didn’t want this show to be epic, as she thought it would confuse the fans!?

I haven’t watched this edit yet btw, so don’t know what this guy has done. But I assume he’s replaced the music in some scenes

I keep seeing this. If anything, the criticism was mild.

People were angry because it was a poor story, disjointed and added nothing to the lore.

Yeah I don't think it's objectively good. A lot of scenes were poorly shot, a lot of the story made no sense and was just trying to move characters from one point to another with as little explanation as possible

I think a lot of it was valid, but I saw a lot that was over the top and people were unable to have conversations around it, they just got mad and got tunnel vision with their opinions.

Star Wars is a strange one cos by the nature of how the first films were made and the subsequent expansion of the universe, a lot of it is hard to make sense of in a cohesive way but yet it comes under some of the most immense criticism of any franchise.

Not all of it because it’s 2 hours but it’s better than what we got 😂
