Yeah well behind. I'll binge it when I can.

I used to be a guru on SW when I was a kid now getting completely left behind
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Do it. I binged Rebels when my kid wasn’t sleeping through the night but I found myself half hoping he didn’t sleep well so I got in another couple of episodes!

It gets very, very good once you get past the hum-drum and into the actual story.

There won't be an episode 3 for me, if the first two don't deliver.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’d love to be that disciplined but I know that even if they serve up two massive turds, I’ll still come back for episode 3

My names Naby and I’m star-wars-aholic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a time when I would consume anything SW related but after the disappointment that was Obi Wan and Mando season 3,I'm not investing any further time into the franchise.

I'm perfectly content to rewatch episodes 1-6, clone wars,Rebels,Andor,Mando season 1 and 2, for the rest of my life.

I like Rebels. It's not on par with clone wars for me, but as you said, once the story gets going, it becomes a fun ride.

In a time period where SJW and social agendas are being pushed via movies and tv shows, it's refreshing to have a female character that is actually well written and doesn't need the added female empowerment push, to actually be an empowering female.

In terms of SW knowledge:

Me: Yoda
String: Mace
Pun: broom kid

Overall I agree, clone wars is better. But at their respective peaks, Rebels has the ‘moments’ I think. Ahsoka v’s Vader, inquisitors, maul; maul v’s obi-wan, the world between world, Kanan’s finale. And, well anything Thrawn.

Rebels is a little gem imo

I felt CW had the better peaks but both shows are mandatory viewing, if you want to extract the most out of your SW experience.

There is no way that someone can skip CW and tell me they have a profound emotional attachment to the events in episode 3.

I’m gonna have to give it to Rebels.
Whilst Clone Wars is fantastic. But the harder thing to do is to bring in new characters.. and these ones were well written.
Clone Wars has the mix of Classic legends whilst creating new characters for them to interact..
most of the time, Rebels are amongst themselves.

Perhaps giving too much credit on that front? Ahsoka, Maul and Thrawn were big parts of why Rebels was as good as it was - all pre-existing characters

Credit for ghost crew and inquisitors but I feel CW came up with many more original characters.

CW is the better out the two.. but you’re using legendary characters as the Stars. 4 seasons with the Rebels, a lot of work to do, but there’s some great storytelling… that’s why I give Rebels it’s props. And a welcome edition to the Franchise, could it be the Rebels that saves the Franchise?…

Yes, CW not only set up the characters but it set up the storylines. There is no Ahsoka vs Vader, Maul vs Obi Wan, Ahsoka's journey, Rex's journey etc, without the story being fleshed out in CW.

CW introduced some iconic characters. Ahsoka,Cad Bane, Holdo,Savage Opress,Night sisters, the mandalorians, death watch, The father, the brother, Satine, Ventress, Rex, the clone troopers and so many more.

They're going to do it aren't they. Despite having Ezra right there and ready to play the role of Ahsoka's apprentice, they're going to make Sabine a jedi.

Filoni has been bullet-proof with SW fans for a while now. With BoB and Mando S3 both absolutely terrible, is his reputation on the line somewhat with Ahsoka?

That was my concern when I saw the trailer. I have faith in Dave but nobody is infallible. If the studio asked him to make Sabine a Jedi, he might have had no choice.

No.no what?! Sabine!! But what about Ezra….
Dont tell me Ezra is only gonna be a maguffin of the story..
No Kanan, No Ezra and I haven’t seen Zeb in the trailer.. any blokes in this thing?

Possibly but that's a large benefit of the doubt to give.

I'm still hoping Ahsoka will be great but I am fearing the worst.

I think we won't see much of Ezra or Thrawn in season 1.

I think you might be right. I can see almost a reversal of TFA, so instead of a search for Skywalker you have the dark force users searching for Thrawn.

surely season 1 is the build up with Thrawn revealed in the last episode or the penultimate episode

posted on 7/8/23

Call me crazy but why can't we build Thrawns character long before they cross paths?

No need to keep suggesting Thrawn but not seeing him, it isn't like some shocking reveal, can't we just build his character from the start ffs.

I don't think they need a build up. This follows on from Rebels, so I would like them to hit the ground running. I suspect you are correct on the Thrawn front but with 8 episodes in season 1, I think they need more than just a few dark side users to keep the stort going.
