Alan Pardew has a record of turning round a struggling teams fortunes, maybe he would be a better option the Jose?
Is it in LVG's CV to have turned around a clubs fortune, because it's not looking promising.
We're half way through a goof run of winnable games that would have seen us right up there in the new year, and we're failing badly.
Partly due to injuries, which also relates to not having adequate back up in numbers which was LVG's choice entirely.
I've not seen many candidates thrown onto the table here that are obtainable, as I don't think Pep is, nor are Ancelotti or Klopp now.
Who do the Jose objectors think should succeed LVG, and when (if the results/football continues to stagnate as it is)?

So who is this manager who has a history of turning clubs around?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Big Sam
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ha ha, i know that's a joke, but it does illustrate that there aren't really that many top managers with a long track record of turning around struggling big clubs, for the simple reason that top managers tend not to take over struggling clubs in the first place - they don't need to, they can pick and choose their employers.

There are multiple reasons to not hire Jose. And hopefully the likes of Bobby Charlton who have expressed concerns back in 2012/13 will ensure it never happens and after his Chelsea stint and horrid behaviour, the club will think twice. It's not worth it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yeah, cause bobby charlton's done such a great job with the last two managerial appointments hasn't he?
bobby charlton should be put out to pasture.

Yes but you keep saying that Jose has no history of turning clubs around. If that is such an issue then surely you have a manager in mind who does?

There are many managers out there. They don't have to be world class or the best.. PL has a few good ones, La Liga, in Italy etc..

What!? You're saying or manager doesn't have to be the best available?

but the united job is one of the top 5 in world football, so demands the very very best out there - which is why moyes should never have got the job, and why giggs should never get it (or, at least, not any time soon).

Because they are smart enough to pick teams on the up.
Pep to Bayern, Jose to Chelsea, Inter, Madrid.
Klopp tried to be different
Barca we win thinks David Cameron is a good bloke so I'm not sure he has great taste in leaders.

Mourinho's seriously under-rated on here. He's a mercurial character and no one can say whether he'd be disaster or saviour, the question's whether you want to take that risk (I would).
What amazes me is that a lot of our 'glory hunter' fans who are clamoring for Jose, are prepared to ignore all his faults just for success.
My biggest concern with Jose isn't dull footy or his obnoxiousness, it is all to do with how he has managed to lose his players that were champions last year and not be able to fix it.

Yeah.. but even if we don't get Pep, we should not resort to desperation and hire Jose who will likely leave us not in good terms.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't like the bloke either but he would likely win us a title which right now is what's important.
I'd like to think with the freedom from the board to manage the side, as Fergie, Moyes and LVG had, he wouldn't need to squabble.
I'd also like to think somebody would have a work prior to taking the job and remind him of the clubs values and what being Utd manager requires.

i understand that it is the second richest club in the world, and worth $2-3bn. i also understand that, when the club had the chance to at the very least go for mourinho 3 years ago, it instead ended up with moyes, partly because of the vocal opposition of charlton.
moyes followed by lvg has arguably cost the club over £100m, and set them back 2-4 years.
so, yeah, i understand that about the club.
The players aren't playing for the manager here either VC. He's cocked up at Chelsea this year, but I think they were mad to sack him.
