"bobby charlton should be put out to pasture."
You don't understand our club in the slightest do you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i understand that it is the second richest club in the world, and worth $2-3bn. i also understand that, when the club had the chance to at the very least go for mourinho 3 years ago, it instead ended up with moyes, partly because of the vocal opposition of charlton.
moyes followed by lvg has arguably cost the club over £100m, and set them back 2-4 years.
so, yeah, i understand that about the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Part of what made the club so rich and famous worldwide in the first place is people like Bobby Charlton.
As a fan, I care more about that than the finances.

The players aren't playing for the manager here either VC. He's cocked up at Chelsea this year, but I think they were mad to sack him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What a load of crap, the players are trying, some just aren't good enough and others out of form.
It isn't a lack of effort has us in this mess.

I think that is a bit lazy really. We are pretty much in a similar position to where we were last year. The Chelsea players are 16 places below where they were.

if we see charlton as instrumental in the hiring of the last two managers - and i'm not sure whether we do or not - then there is a strong argument that he should fall on his sword along with lvg. at the very least, not sure why someone who has picked two duds in a row would be allowed any say in picking the next manager (and i have read a suggestion that charlton's influence will be a lot less this time round).

What a load of crap in return.
Very good players are playing within themselves, playing it safe, not taking risks, retaining the ball pointlessly with no attacking intent because it's clearly not worth the aggravation to take a (potentially) goal scoring) risk if you're going to lose the ball and take a bollicking. Look at what's happened to Herrera since he joined us. Open your eyes and use your brain rather than arrogant put downs.
"if we see charlton as instrumental in the hiring of the last two manager"
Considering Fergie said none of jose, Pep, Klopp or Ancelotti were available, it stands to reason that it makes no difference who was involved.

nope, just someone who views the success of the club as more important than the continued employment of a former player.
bowing down to the past too much could see giggs appointed as manager, which would be the 3rd balls up in a row from the board.

and they were the only managers in the world good enough for the united job? moyes would not have figured on a list of the top 20 managers in world football, quite how he was allowed to take over at united i still don't know.

After watching Carrick swanning around for the last fifteen minutes without any kind of urgency and passing backwards and sideways, what was needed was a severe case of the Fergie hairdryer.

i'm talking about his role in selecting a new manager, which wasn't a problem when united were winning, under SAF.
but i have no problem with charlton being a club figurehead, i just feel that having messed up the selection of a new manager twice then his opinions about the next one should be politely taken on board, and then ignored.
and how you can deduce that a glory hunter = someone who prioritises the club over a single individual i have no idea.

If that were the case, they would be telling him this. They have the opportunity to do so. This has been well documented.
Of course it doesn't help when the manager makes boneheaded team selections and substitutions.
To me, this is where the major issues lie. For the last three years I have been saying Carrick can not play the DM or holding midfield role. He doesn't have the pace, or the bite and isn't vocal enough.
We always defend to deep when Carrick plays there. And that is where we have been exploited for the last few games.

My biggest concern with Jose isn't dull footy or his obnoxiousness, it is all to do with how he has managed to lose his players that were champions last year and not be able to fix it.
they were champions due to him.
