Polar bears and penguins both live at Dudley zoo. In any case, the penguins could fly to the arctic if they wanted to.
============

Can someone inform Cyp that penguins can't fly. Or maybe they do in his world, along with pigs and elephants.

I don't think there is Anything shrewd about the loan market once you go beyond a couple.

They had about eleven last season, all dead money to achieve what? Nothing.

So basically they paid as much for loans as we did Afobe, only one of those bits of business makes sense, and that's the Afobe deal.

But they got in the play-offs. (Do you get money for that?) genuine question, not a Wum.

They are still in the championship are they not?

Don't see how loans are "dead money", as you have to pay players anyway. My understanding is that if you pay a transfer fee of whatever figure, you then still have to pay a wage as well. With respect, if that's wrong, hopefully Cinci will tell me, (without insults).

Loans are dead money because you get nothing back for your investment.

Promotion would do it I guess, otherwise you are not building a team because you have to give them back, it is in fact the complete opposite of what micks hallmark is.

Yes. I was wondering what they got for finishing in the play-offs. I assume they got a reward, and probably TV money too from Sky etc for the knock-out stages. I don't know the figures, but laying in the league is all a out speculation.

Some clubs sign loanees eventually. I don't see it as a problem. Worked for Ipswich who worked under financial constraints to achieve their higher place. It's unlikely that they'll get into an auto-promotion place, as Mick said himself, but they'll still go for it, which he also said according to he reports, which to me is a good attitude. I'd hate to have a manager that didn't have that kind of spirit.

May as well end the convo now as you are completely ignoring facts.

Well, I hope you convinced yourself a little today, presumably you were having a wobble.

How do you "pay for loans"? As you stated earlier. Surely it's only wages, that you'd be outlaying anyway.

Are you suggesting that clubs pay a transfer fee for loans?

Genuine question, not intended to upset.

You loan someone in, he costs money, he fits in great, he leaves for zero.

Only way to loan is to loan to buy, otherwise its a poor long term strategy.

So there is NO fee. Just wages

Wages are paid anyway. Loaning would be a great strategy for a club with limited resources.

Oh right.

So given we had money and they didn't, we signed Afobe for whatever it was, cant remember, 1.5 was it? Plus wages, less than 10 a week.

They loaned 7 players was it and paid for that other fella for 300 grand was it? So about 70 to 80 grand a week on loans.

Crunch some numbers, spent about the same give or take a minimal fee.

This is becoming surreal now

I have had bute hanging off my every word all day all because he wants to show me Mick is better than Kenny, a manager I want sacked

posted on 30/12/15

Don't flatter yourself. I can't think of anyone who hangs on to your words, although I appreciate that someone with your self-importance will imagine they're the centre of attention.

In any event, having a view on current or past managers is something all fans will have.

Would be interesting to see the figures, excluding wages, which all clubs will pay anyway.

But wages are important are they not, that had been the platform for every 'Mick didn't fail in the prem' argument for years.

Yes, but wages are common to both scenarios. That was my point. No surprise that you overlooked that, as you seem to have a limited understanding as to how it all works. Nothing wrong with that, as most fans don't know or understand the complexities of finance in football.
