It's similar with Eddie Howe now at Bournemouth. They've had some poor results, and are struggling near the basement, but have also had a couple of notable results at Stamford Bridge, and agains Man Utd. There's a spirit in the camp, and you can't imaging the chairman ousting the manager. The club, and manager belong to each other, and are a good fit.
A Mick McCarthy debate. We should have had one earlier than this!

Prefer English beer not the cat's piisss lager we get out here. Failing that, red wine.
Fair play to GH

There you go Cinci.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hang on. Where have my wine and champagne emoji's gone.
They show on my phone but not on my desktop at work. Admin needs to sort that out.
Couple of points:- Tamwolf, cinci is correct. 50% of SS signings are playing in the top leagues in their respectful countries. (Sako, Peszko and Doumbia) Not sure you can even count Boukari as he hasn't kicked a football in years, so it could be 60%
And Cyp, the actual transfer fees for the five SS signed is 9.52m, not 13m.
Plus whoever picked 30 years as a time frame must be one of our younger posters, as it suits their agenda.
Right, enough of this crap, until Bute inevitably brings up that guys name again.
Hey, where's my emoji gone ?

No he isn't. Stale signed Sako, Peszko, Sigurdarsson, Doumbia, Pennant, Margrietter and Boukari (who has to be counted as he is a Stale signing. You cannot discount someone to make your figures look better). That's 7 signings. Only three of them play in a top division (one of those is the Polish top division, which is similar to the Championship, but lets not split hairs).
3 out of 7 is not 50 %.
Lets put it in policeman terms to help you understand. At a football match, you have 7,000 fans waiting at a turnstile. The stand only safely holds a capacity of 3,000. Do you allow 50 % of them in?
And Cyp, the actual transfer fees for the five SS signed is 9.52m, not 13m.
Ah, that's OK then. I thought for a minute or two that Solbakken had wasted a large amount of money!
In any case, the figure being reported at the time was £13 million, especially if we assume that one or two of them were being paid!
Whatever the number, far more than micks lot.

We all have opinions and they should be respected as I've said before and if you don't agree, then give your reasons why and debate it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As an interesting aside to last night's results, it's no mean achievement that Ipswich have had 5 away wins on the trot. That's equalled the all-time record at the club.
Also it looks as though the new manager at Fulham has made an instant impression with their heavy defeat of Rotherham.
Great achievement, but again, completely irrelevant.

Obviously that is what matters. What players achieve after they leave is far more important than what they and the manager who signed them achieved whilst they were here.
