Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Henderson, Can, Milner, Lallana, Firmino

With all due respect, we really ought to be beating that team. Fairly weak defence, I think; a midfield that is no better than ours even considering our absentees; and no real punch in attack without Benteke.
Saying that, I actually believe we'll draw or lose today.

So...
De Gea
Young Smalling Blind Darmian
Schneiderlin
Herrera Fellaini
Lingard Rooney Martial
Is that it, or will Fellaini be deeper, with Schneiderlin?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hopefully as you have it. 1 holding midfielder, with 2 just in front sharing the load.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's what I'd do. Though I'm still not sure that role will get the best out of Schneiderlin.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think he's best as one of the 2 in front. I'd liken him to a sort of defensive box to box player. Probably best with a passer (Carrick, Schweini) behind, with a more attacking player (Herrera, Fele) alongside him. Don't think we've ever lined up that way though. Schneiderlin always seems to be used purely in a defensive midfield role. I think he has more to offer than that.
If we get beat by a side that's not even playing a natural striker it'll be be worse.

Id be concerned by that midfield because with the lack of energy in there with Fellaini playing you could well be swamped in there
Can and Fellaini will have a tussle today I feel

You're not wrong to be honest. I'm expecting Liverpool to dominate the first 30 minutes
Possibility of a struggle to get any midfield ball,go long against their defence

Schmeichel making the other two not get a word in
Clattenberg is the ref today. Fun and games. At least its not Atkinson or Dean.
'Possibility of a struggle to get any midfield ball,go long against their defence'
A tactic Klopp himself used very effectively against Bayern. You know you can't compete there so bypass it with the long ball. Could work if we use Fellaini further forward.
Strap yourself in!! we going for a ride!!!
Come on UTD!
Souness like Hoddle sit their and absorb things, we make the least defensive actions
How long is bastian out for?
Not much pace in attack or wing areas for Liverpool, but Lucas, Can and Henderson will make it tough for us to get any flow of possession, they have a much more energetic side than us.
Can't bear to watch Fellaini making ridiculous fouls for much longer. So frustrating.

Don't get why Mata is not playing this game, he has Liverpools number.

They've lumped it forward almost every time I've seen them under Klopp. They finished with Steven Caulker up front on Wednesday. A few games ago it was Skrtel. They scored with a hoof into the box and a knockdown against WBA. Its not hoofball though. Only LVG plays hoofball.
I want one of the journalists to ask Van Gaal what he sees in Fellaini, he's been useless for the last 9 months
we will need DDG to be on his usual form in order to keep them out especially early doors. Hes our most important and effective player under LVG.
Fellaini
Guess there aren't any other options ATM?
He could cause problems on their box, hey can't defend set pieces. Problem is we have nobody delivering decent balls in ATM.
