I'm from yorkshire, i like butter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So do I, but Miss Robben (despite usually devouring a bar of Galaxy most evenings, and only being just over 8stone) complains about the fat content of butter

Robben, I do the same in my curries. Can never be arssssed with a full one from scratch but find if you buy a ready made sauce or spice mix you can make it much tastier by chopping and boiling a sweet potato and chucking it in with the sauce. It all turns to mush but makes the curry much creamier and tastier than using ghee or butter.

One thing I won't touch is liver, them little yellow tubes make me heave
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not a fan of offal

Liver is great. I make a lovely southern fried crispy liver with garlic mash and collard greens.

I am always up for a bit of offal. Never managed to try brains, which I would like to see.

I do remember going to a beer festival and getting totally wasted. Ended up in Chinatown with a plate of crisy fried pig intestine.

Tasted a little pooey

There's so much good food in The US, but I find that this is balanced out by some of the most $hitty places I have ever eaten.

The gourmet coffee and bacon and mushroom ommellette in some truck stop in ohio was the worst thing I've ever eaten.

All the men and woman had the same mullet haircut. The place was thick with smoke, the coffee was clerly puddle water and the ommellette had about 2 pounds of the fattiest, saltiest bacon and a half a button mushroom.

Couldn't stomach it.

So I ordered a muffin to go with my puddle coffee. So you know what the dirty ba$tards done.....they cut it in half, smeared butter on it and fried it on the flat top

I've lived in this country so long I can't even spell omelette any more

Just throw two of every letter in there and hope it's right

US food is so rich though, everything smothered in thick sauce of some kind.
I longed for a boring plate of food when I came back

Definitely, in southern cooking, theres a love of gravy and sauce,

Up here in new England its hearty heavy seafood in the winter, or fresh raw fish in the summer.

Similar situation when I last went to a classic french inspired restaurant> Just too sauce heavy.
