never understood the whole your stadiums a bit empty insult.
sometimes games and stuff are on at inconvienent times and yeah occasionally there are gonna be a few thousand empty seats.
i dont think its the issue some people make it out to be and a very stupid stick to beat a club with.
went week in week out through three leagues watching some of the worst football you can imagine.

So? YUou dont get a medal for that chief. Maybe your life was empty in other area's and this gave you more time on your hands

That you speaking from experience on why you decided to support a club that wins a lot of trophies?

We're not really here.....never been a truer thing uttered by a massive ever.
That you speaking from experience on why you decided to support a club that wins a lot of trophies?
we dont.
You haven't seen anything comparable to the Pearce season SE. That was the worst for me.
Would it not be better to lower ticket prices especially for younger fans? Make it a 'dad and lad' night and get younger fans in!?
I am aware women also attend football games!
Our bubble burst about 2 years after I was bought my first season ticket and didn't re-inflate for about another 25 years.
We got 59,000 against Bilbao which was our last Ropey cup game.
I reckon it will be closer to 39,000 this time. Don't blame people for not going.

Thankfully I haven't no.
However it's all relative. That season you weren't expected to do much were you?
Us finishing 7th under Moyes as reigning champions is about the same. It's relative.
We all know lie about your attendances so put numbers into the equation is a futile exercise.
you weren't expected to do much were you?
We had our highest ever PL finish the season before so we were expecting us to push on.
"Just 59,265 saw Red Devils face Athletic Bilbao in the competition in 2012"
Still more than you can take to any of your games
We don't lie more than any other club. City are exactly same. They count tickets sold rather than bums on seats and so they should. Why do clubs care if people don't fill their seat as long as they pay for it?
Also.....we'll still have 2nd highest attendance in Competition after Dortmund no doubt.
"That you speaking from experience on why you decided to support a club that wins a lot of trophies?
we dont."
So you've only become a fan in the past three years?
At least City drop their prices to about £20 when they can't sell them though.
Don't see us doing that.

It is if you are talking about the results. That wasn't the be all and end all for me though, it was he mind numbing tedium of that season.
For all of Moyes faults and some of the football, it was still interesting. Our relegation seasons were interesting.
The Pearce one was not.
On this argument in general, I'd say two points. The first is that any stadium should have a few empty seats really as otherwise, there are fans that want to go that can't get tickets so it isn't maximising revenue. From a fan perspective, I'd take being able to buy tickets any day over not being able to clearly (although our league games have sold out far more often than not).
Secondly, I have never understood why size of fan base can be used as either a good thing or an insult. Whether 20000 people or 200000 people support city, it doesn't change my own personal experience or support.
I just find it odd.
Its just banter. Don't get too upset by it.
Isn't banter defined as "good humored"?
Yeah,I think it's more than banter for a lot of people to be fair.
It's a catchphrase for most.
Obsession for the rest.
