at that stage of his career he wasn't better than mahrez is now, no.

and if you don't think that transfer fee inflation is relevant then presumably you think that fellaini is 5 times the player maradona ever was?

Yeah he was, anelka was way better than marez is now. Lol. Which means marez ain't worth 15 mil since he ain't as good as anelka was.

right you are. then you'll be delighted if your lot don't spend £15m on him then, so everyone's happy.

Mahrez looks more direct and better at scoring goal compare to Hazard....but we will need to see whether Mahrez is Michu or real gem of a player...time will tell.

Don Draper's

Think it’s been fairly widely reported that £15m is his current value. While not always 100% accurate transfer market also valued him at £15m. Leicester will obviously not wish to consider selling him (at all) let alone £15m, which is why I believe they’ll want to get him signed to a new contract sooner rather than later.

Also from the player's point of view, a club like Barca would be difficult to say no to. Leicester will be fully aware of this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ok, must have missed that...but seems like a bizarrely low figure, it's barely more than ross mccormack!

from what i see he signed an extension in august, and the club is lining up a new contract for the summer...they can certainly afford to tell any PL team to eff off for less than £30m, and as I said short of downing tools and refusing to play they can do the same to barca.

though i do agree, i've never been to leicester, but think i would find the leicester-barca move hard to turn down.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
15 million is calculated for what it will cost to buy him out of his current contract, between now and the end of his contract LCFC will pay him about 15 million, therefore that's what it would cost to buy him out of his contract, leave any idea of playing quality out for a moment.

He's on very low wages in terms of other PL footballers hence the 15 million.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
sure, but who was the last player to actually buy out the last 3 years of his contract and move?

suarez was on £200k a week, but i don't remember barca ordering him to buy out the remaining 4 years of his contract at £42m and then picking him up for nothing (having given him the £42m of course).

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I get what you're saying and agree with you, I don't think Mahrez would be sold for 15 million but that's what the bidding would start at based on his current deal.

What a shocking logic. Put it this was I'd rather have Mahrez now, than a fully primed Anelka any day, Call me biased. don't care.

If Barcelona want him, Barcelona will get him. But with a lengthy time left on his contract, I hope we follow suit of the American owners of Liverpool and Utd and play hardball.

Reserves for 2 years or pay what we ask. I really like that sentiment. Berahinho has learned something from that as well!

So, £35m and Barca, Leicester and Mahrez will be happy.

£15m and id rather let him play for the under 21s and lose the money. The TV deal will see we don't need it.

In the main, football clubs tend to be pragmatic, in that it helps no one letting a player’s book value depreciate by letting them play in the reserves as suggested. No one wins.

oh dear. go back to school, learn about price increases/inflation, and then you might have something sensible to add to the debate.

until then it is a waste of time trying to educate you.

The obvious being that the (Anelka) valuation was many years ago. Player’s wages/contracts are considerably higher now than when Anelka played for Chelsea.

I don't get it bro. Whats the difference between 15 mil now and 15 mil in 2008. Its the same amount, ain't it?

Anelka, decent player but a moody journeyman with a shocking goal return for the teams he's played in.

Mahrez offers more, and is more of a flair player capable of that little bit of magic to win you a game.

Arsenal signed Henry for £11m in 1999.

Do you think a 22yr old Thierry Henry would cost £11m in today's market? Have a think.

posted on 7/3/16

Bro, this don't make no sense. Anelka is a better player than marez, right? So that means the value of anelka is higher. So he should cost more momey then, right?

And honour dude, gtfo. Anelka shiiits on marez. Guys a furrrking legend.

posted on 7/3/16

Nah but pearce dude, henry werent any good before he went to arsenal.
