yes, that's it. go and find some old pound coins you have had for 5-10 years, you'll see that not only do they now have £1.25 written on them, but they're also larger and heavier than your newer pound coins, they grow over time.

Bro, dont be a smartass, i know coins cant grow. But ain't that how its meant to work, if the value of money increases? Plus why does it even increase in the first place?
I think this guy is some kid that has hijacked his dad's account. Beyond thick.
Guys, I legit dont get this. Surely that should happen. My coin should be worth more if the value of money increases.

how old are you?
Only asking to try give you an example of inflation relevant to you
Yeah knee dude. If money goes up, why do coins stay the same? Surely a £1 coin should be worth more?

Anelka (a striker aged 36) plays for Mumbai City - a last pay day before retiring.
Mahrez (a winger aged 25) will be one of the most sought after players in Europe at the end of the season.
There is no comparision whatsoever - in any reality. Ever...
Don dude, cant you just explain it to me? I really wanna know how it works, but those websites are too long and complicated.
Knee dude, im 18

What was the last (significant) purchase you made?
How much would it have to cost to be significant?
Anelka wasn't 25 when he signed for at a guess I'd say about 28.
Honour dude, just stop bro. Anelka 2008 >>>>>> mahrez

Read this it explains it far better than I can.
Basically the value of your pound will increase year on year based on the rate of inflation. But this can be coupled with an increase in what you might get paid. Also while inflation rises so will the cost of goods.
So say you have a pound now, AT a 2% annual rate of inflation your pound will be worth £1.02, but say right now a Mars Bar might be 50p in a year it could cost 52p.
That's not exact but a very basic explanation.
