Not sure why that's done, but it won't allow me to modify it back! Sri Lanka fought hard for a 1-1 draw last time around winning at headingley - they'll have fond memories there.... At least this time there aren't any ridiculous 2 test series

Yeah was a good series last time. I remember the last ball of the game..Broad was bowling he was edged to slip and it fell just short. And Jimmy getting out at the end of the game.. giving the lankans the series..1-0

Herath is a decent left arm spinner. But he shouldnt get any help in May in english conditions.. England really need to target him.. No more pondering and playing cautious .. I want england to really stamp their authority on games...

You're right it was 1-0.. Moeen and in particular Anderson held on until second to last ball. That series deserved a 3rd game

Without sounding disrespectful, in home soil I expect England victories in the Test arena.

It's a good chance for the likes of Bairstow to cement their place.

Also a chance to sort out problem positions.

I remain respectful but not a huge fan of Ali. I would like to see Rashid given a good run. Ansari should be monitored too.

The batting has gaping holes. 3 to be exact.

Cook, Root and Stokes take up 3 spots.

Hales, Compton and the now retired Taylor role are all up for grabs.

Personally, I would like to see Vince, Ballance and Clarke fighting for the middle order spots. Possibly two of those, moving Root up to 3.

I am not convinced by Hales opening. He may be more suited to bat 3.

Robson should come back in to open with Cook. He scores big.

Agree Yorkie, would expect England to win but the recent 1-1 vs NZ and previous loss to Lanka 1-0 just makes you ponder abit....

On the point of moeen, I noticed he has been fielding at short leg in the county games, England possibly thinking about a replacement for Taylor in that position?

Sri Lanka - Pretty much nailed on victory for England

Pakistan - all depends on how their batsmen hold up. Putting aside all the controversy around Amir, I think he is a tremendous talent and the English wickets will suit him to a tea. Pakistan will get wickets with their bowling unit.

All comes down to how their batsmen stand up to that Anderson and his tantrums, and Broad. They should deal with Rashid and Ali comfortably.

With home conditions England are favorites...BUT this is not going to be a walk in the park like the Sri Lanka series.....

I wouldnt move Root to 3.. no point in changing him.I wouldnt go back to bell either.. Time the likes of vince was given a chance. No idea why anyone rates Rashid.. Should stick with moeen untill we find a better test spinner.

I read an article by Root yesterday saying he wants to stay 4. Stokes also liked him at 4 as they bat well together.
