It really wasn't because I watched the whole innings with my own two eyes and it was an excellent fluent innings which paved the way for Rohits demolition later on.

The Cricinfo page summed it up pretty well - worth a read.

Kav yeah I saw that innings myself, and he looked pretty good. He got unplayable delivery, and it stayed way too low. and actually that was a poor decision as well. That would have missed leg.

But having said that, with all the hype after Kohli was scorring tons of runs earlier this year, he has been very dissapointing with the bat. His average is still howering on the 43 after playing 50 odd tests. For a n0.4 that is a very poor average. You take out the Aus tour and he averages something like 38. He really needs to improve his consistency in this form, and the way he is getting out is generally very dissapointing. Balls that he should be leaving, his edging them to slips and gully

And to be fair, its not just Kohli, our top 6 lack consistnecy and this has been the case throughout the last 1 year. I can.t recall when last an Indian player scored over 1000 runs in a calender year.

Yeah Viru the tail is pretty good. Ashwin, Jadeja, Bhuvi are all decent batsmen on their day. That's the thing nowadays we need cricketers like that who are extremely skilled as either bowling all-rounders or the other way round in ODI's but in Test cricket they still usually struggle abroad. Jadeja for example is a walking wicket in Australia and his darts are negated in foreign conditions in tests.

This is a very strange series. It's like West Indies want to lose. They didn't even try to win today.

posted on 2/10/16

West Indies were more competitive today though somewhat.

posted on 2/10/16

They were going at 4 runs an over chasing 340 when they only had 1 and then 2 wickets down. The West Indies board has ruined the team. Maybe this is there protest by not qualifying for the world cup?

I think there tactics were to make sure they didn't lose too many wickets in first 15 overs and then when the Required rate got to 10 they kind of tried to go for it. I don't know the likes of Gayle, Sammy aren't playing.

Good victory by India, reclaiming #1 test spot.

They need some sort of revamp of the points system - the rankings change far too consistently.

I think England deserve the #1 test spot with India for #1 ODI spot.

England deserve it based on what?

India were always going to regain it considering fixtures (current and those to come).... agree it needs to be revamped - i would give double points for away victories

@A14

How's Mickey Arthur getting on as coach and what do you reckon to his start as coach?

posted on 3/10/16

No wonder (blunder )

He's had a very good start to be fair but I think waqar should take a lot of credit for the England test series... he's the the one that's build this team in the last few years...

Arthur's real test will come over the next 18 months - NZ Aus away and possibly South Africa next year and champions trophy. We need to motor on with the odi team, really think barbar azam and umar akmal (yes still think he's got it) can really push on and become very good players in the shorter version. Good to see some youngsters coming through the odi team lately, hoping Arthur takes it to another level... can't really make much of a judgement based on a series victory over a mediocre windies side

Sharjeel another one with potential - like Azam gives away his wicket too easy but he's one of the reasons we have started quick runs early on... hopefully he can shed a few pounds and cement his place as an opener..... rather him than Hafeez and shahzad though

You still filtered by U2?

posted on 3/10/16

I haven't even bothered checking if i still am or not mate... the guy is history

A14 why would U2 filter you? he seems alright to me lol.

A49,

There were multiple threads created during the World Cup - few of us said to have one thread where everyone could contribute. He didn't like that and filtered a few of us... each to their own

posted on 4/10/16

I don't contribute much, but I read the threads. He started one off and filtered a couple of usual wum bandits. Then someone else pushed someone to rename a thread as the 'official' thread to allow the wummers to comment. It's been downhill like that ever since. At least he got the Indian and Pakistan fans together

posted on 4/10/16

U2 did create peace of some sort between Pak and Indian fans. He should go into politics.

He was just very stubborn. Pakistan were going to play India and on his thread he filtered all the Indians which would have killed the banter.

Luckily No Wonder took matters into his own hands and the rest is history.

I do find him talking to himself threads amusing.

No wonder changed his thread to the official World Cup thread at the request of the majority on here... U2 embarrassed himself over a non-issue really.. hardly worth the aggro

posted on 4/10/16

I think several people embarrassed themselves, you included. Those that abused U2. Those that ran around telling porkies. Those that begged no wonder to change his thread title. And U2 for being so unyielding.

posted on 4/10/16

I don't recall 'abusing' U2, still don't and have always said he's every right to filter whoever he wants. Just didn't agree on filtering people for a World Cup thread.... no idea about people telling porkies and abusing u2, really don't....

supa - name and shame these individuals. Give us some examples too. can't believe you read the whole world cup thread
